Kicking ass at NaNo seems to kick the rest of my life to the curb. Seriously. I hit 40k tonight on NaNo, but what is suffering because of it? Ooooh EVERYTHING! I’m behind on emails. Cleaning. Phone calls. Researching editor/agent emails for conference. And God knows what else! I guess that’s somewhat the point of doing NaNo though. When you excel dramatically in one area, another area is going to tank. Or maybe that’s just me? Anyway, thought I’d put that out there. It’ll be December in no time and life will be normal again! Riiiight.

On a random note. I’m in love with Etsy. It’s an online market of crafts and such. I’m digging the jewelry section. I *heart* it. Seriously, check it out and support someone’s hobby/craft/career.

On another random note, I wanted to share a love song I adore. Seriously I love it. It was sung at the wedding of one of my best friends. (I have to say I was peeved I didn’t get to sing it! But I was Maid of Honor and the timing was wrong;)  This song Come What May is from Moulin Rouge. It’s romantic and sweet. I was a bit surprised that Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor can sing so well! I can also confess to thinking Ewan is a bit of a hottie.

So my year of releases is booking up! I have another sale to report!

Samhain just offered for my short story (almost novella) titled Theirs to Capture. It’s a really hot (seriously, it’s being marketed as erotica it’s so hot!) triad/shifter. But I will say you’ll still get a HEA (happily ever after). And it’s going to be releasing in March! More info to come later, my current blurb is a bit suckish otherwise I’d share with y’all!

Other than that, I’m about 32k on my second Aphrodisia book and yesterday I started a short holiday story. It shouldn’t be more than 5k though (I’m adding both to my NaNo word count!) and I should be finished by tonight. I’m about 4k already.

And I got back to the gym today! Yay! Hour on the elliptical. I didn’t eat so hot at dinner. I was just so hungry. Gah! I think I went wrong by not having protien at breakfast. I’ll keep it up though! Must, must, must keep up the healthy!

On another squee note? One week until Dangerous Grounds is available in print! Here’s my cheeseball pic I took when I got my author copies.

I’m at Naughty and Spice blogging about the parts of my kid’s birthday party that did NOT go as planned :)

Had entirely too much fun at my daughter’s crazy fifth birthday party today. This was the big one with all her friends. Thirteen children to be exact. And yes. I’m alive afterward. Barely! I was excited to see old friends and have a friend from the kid’s preschool come with her mother. It gave me the chance to get to know her better! I’ve also been having Emma’s half sister and her cousin spending the night the last few nights. We saw Madagascar 2 last night. So funny! And despite being busy all the time, I’ve kept up on NaNo (staying ahead of it actually). Though tonight I think I’m just too tired to write.

I have gotten a bit of reading in! I read my first (yes, I confess) Julia Quinn book. It was cute. And I’m not a big regency fan generally.

All right, I think I’m off to sleep. And so early on a Saturday night. I am pathetic incarnated.

Come visit Susan Lyons where she’s guest blogging at Naughty and Spice about the holidays and books! She’s holding a contest!

Well, I’m wrapping up my daughter’s fifth birthday! Yay! Where have the years gone?

Yesterday, with the help of my friend, we made about 50 cupcakes from scratch. The first batch was a bit off, but we tweaked it and got it right. And were sufficiently rewarded this morning when the preschool teacher raved about homemade cupcakes
::rockon:: Then there was lunch at the Olive Garden, presents, a family get together. It was great! Except that whole part where the kid briefly set her hair on fire blowing out the candle. But heck, she’s due for a haircut. The kid loaded birthday party is Saturday.

So with the events, and feeling a wee bit queasy (I hope I’m not getting sick), I got very little writing in today for NaNo. But that’s okay because I’m totally on top of it! 26k in 9 days of writing! And I’ll try and get some more tonight.

The gym is a vague memory. I think I got there last week…lol. Starting Monday, after parties and life returns to normal, I’m going hardcore gym time and really going to nail the eating great again. Hold me to it!

Come share your dream with me! What would you like to see happen in your life within the next year? I’m even giving away an advanced copy of my book Dangerous Grounds to one commenter!

So my daughter turns five on Wednesday! I’m really excited and I’ve even decided to bake cupcakes from scratch for her preschool! I always Google the web for ‘the best’ cupcakes recipes. Last year I tried the Amy Sedaris cupcakes . It was a fun recipe, but I thought they tasted like fluffy sugar cookies basically. And I’m not a fan of sugar cookies. But others seemed to love them!

So this year I found another recipe. Billy’s Vanilla, Vanilla cupcakes. Here’s the pic below. Only I’m going to do it with the alternate chocolate frosting. I love to bake. It’s so much fun! But the sucky part is I can’t really eat the stuff! Everything in moderation though. Easier said than done ;)

Yesterday I came home from the gym and found my author copies for Dangerous Grounds! Squee! Very fun indeed. Just a couple more weeks about (I think?) until it’s out!!

And can I just say for the first time I’m actually kicking butt on NaNo? I got 12k in the first six days. I’m pretty proud of myself. I think I’ll actually complete it this year. I was telling my editor that I’ve tried to do it every year (somewhat), but when you have a bunch of people totally going totally hardcore and MAKING you do it, I tend to rebel. I do better when I set my own or my publisher gives me deadlines (actually that’s when I thrive.)  But this year, I’m riding the NaNo wave and determined to win it! I’m working on my second Kensington futuristic erotic romance for Aphrodisia. So that’s part of the motivation.

All right, must find food and then get some writing done! Later!

Come visit Naughty and Spice to support author Jayne Rylon as she discusses reading books out of season. She’s even giving away copies of her books! Come on by!

I’m really excited to announce Samhain recently offered for my three book (novellas) series, which will then come out in print in one big book. Look for the first release in late Spring! Here’s a peek!

Three women work for the same battered women’s shelter; each spicy novella tells one woman’s story of her journey to finding love.

The series, Taking Chances, contains three novellas:

Anybody by Justin: Gabby finds herself falling for the one man she vows to never love. Her best friend and roommate Justin–a player in every sense. After things get a little too hot one night, she moves out, intent to move on. Unfortunately, Justin has different plans.

Luck Be Delanie: Years ago Delanie made one gigantic mistake or one small felony. That mistake has caught up with her at a posh resort in the San Juan Islands. And Grant wants back more than what she stole from him; he wants her as well.

Protecting Phoebe: Its been years since Phoebe survived an abusive relationship in college and she’s moved on in every sense but the dating world. She sets her sights on a younger cop who has her pulse racing. But casual sex goes goes out the window when she realizes her exboyfriend is stalking her.
