Of course I mean that in the most fabulous way! My very first Carina Press book, Negligee Behavior, is out today! I love this book (I know I say that with most of my books!) and was inspired to write it when I was visiting Las Vegas for American Idol auditions (which is a whole other, not-so-exciting story).

When lingerie heiress Brandy Summer gets cold feet and runs out on her Vegas wedding, she has nowhere to turn—so she hijacks a hunky biker waiting for a red light and begs him for help. What she doesn’t know is that her instincts are right: the groom has a hidden agenda. He needs her money to pay off his gambling debts and she’s his ticket to the good life.

Marco Vargas isn’t sure what he’s getting himself into when he rescues Brandy, but figures he’ll do the chivalrous thing. He offers her a job in his bar and the chance to sort out her feelings. But it seems that keeping Brandy hidden is easier than keeping his hands off her—and what will happen when Brandy discovers that Marco has secrets of his own?

REVIEWS
“….the right balance of quirky humor, romance and red-hot passion of the body hair singeing variety… definitely makes it to my “favorites” list of contemporary romances for 2011…”
–Maldivian Book Reviewer’s Realm of Romance

“I think that Stevens might have become one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. This read was fun, fast paced, light hearted, sexy and a great summer read to add to any romance lovers TBR pile!”

Here’s what I just added to my Brenda Novak Diabetes auction basket! Which you can find here. I picked them up at the Space Needle when I visited over the weekend! Speaking of which, lemme share my cool photo!

Welcome to another Snippet Saturday! Today’s theme is Unusual Setting. I’m sharing an excerpt from my book The Pirate’s Booty (one of my older books!). Check out the excerpt and blog hop around to read more!

When her doggy daycare business is threatened with foreclosure, Renee is at a loss of how to raise the money. Then she remembers something from a diary that has been passed down through her family for generations. With renewed hope and a slightly crazy plan, Renee decides to crash a party thrown by the descendant of a pirate. She intends to steal back a brooch taken from her ancestor centuries ago. But what she doesn’t realize is that it’s a sex party, and Devon Murray is as notorious as his pirate ancestor. Warning: This title contains explicit language, graphic sex, and group sex situations.

EXCERPT

Renee emerged from her retreat and made her way back to the
kinky room, where she spotted her escort. Perfect, she could tell him
she was ready to leave.

“Victor—”

“I am no longer your escort, ma’am,” he said cordially and then
continued past her.

“Okay…” Renee said slowly, a little curious as to why her assigned
shadow for the night, had suddenly bailed.

Shrugging, she entered the kinky room to search for her clutch.

Inside, she noticed a man, leaning against a wall, who seemed to be
staring at her. Renee slowed her search while trying to get a better
look at him. He had long hair pulled back into a ponytail and gold hoops
hung from each ear.

Could this be him? Devon Murray? He certainly had a pirate aura
about him.

He caught her looking and shoved away from the wall,
approaching her with certain deliberation.

“Are you a Domme or a sub?”

Renee frowned at the question, suddenly noticing that he wore all
leather and had some kind of paddle thingy in his hand.

“I don’t know,” she answered carefully. “What do you think?”

He smiled, as if what she’d said something funny. “You’re a sub.”

“Ugh, okay…” She winced as he slapped the paddle against is
palm.

“Show me your ass.”

Renee blinked. “Excuse me?”

He swung the paddle and gave her a solid smack on her ass.

“Ouch!” she yelped and leapt away from him. “Hey, you can’t just
hit me with that thing!”

He hit her on the butt again and she cursed. Damn that stung!

“I take it back. I’m the Domme, give me the fucking paddle!”

“Show me your ass,” the man told her and raised the paddle again.

Renee squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for the next blow to fall, but
it never came. She opened her eyes.

The persistent bouncer had the man’s arm restrained at a painful
looking angle.

“This woman is not to be touched,” the bouncer said, his violent
gaze focused on the man in leather. “She belongs to me.”

“What?” Renee’s hands slammed down on her hips. “Now get
this—”

“I‐I’m sorry,” the man in leather stammered. “I didn’t realize she
was yours, Mr. Murray.”

Renee blanched and spun her gaze back to the man she’d thought
to be a bouncer. Oh God. He was Devon Murray? He’d had his hands all
over her. She’d enjoyed those hands. The one man she should have kept
up her guard against turned out to be the one man who’d gotten closest to
her tonight. The sudden rush of dizziness made her grab the wall for
support.

The man in leather scurried off to another dark corner, leaving Renee alone with Devon.

Devon looked at her. “I’m sorry, he was out of line. He’s a little
new at this. I’ll have someone instruct him on the true nature of a
Dominant submissive relationship.”

He must have noticed her deer in the headlights look. “Are you all
right?”

She gave a slow nod, more freaked out now than she had been a
minute ago when paddle guy had smacked her.

“Tell me why you’re here.”

Think fast, Renee. “I wanted to try out some fantasies,” she
stammered.

“Don’t fuck with me, Renee,” he ordered softly. “If that really is
your name.”

Time to cut her losses and run. “I should probably… leave.”

“Leave?” he mocked and reached out to tuck a strand of hair
behind her ear. “The party is just beginning. And you were so eager to
join my party, weren’t you, Renee?”

No, I was eager to rob you blind. Damn. How was she going to get out
of this mess?

“You’re in my world now, and we’re going to have a nice long talk,
sweetheart.”

Readers requested it, and now it’s available!

After I finished the Holding Out For a Hero series, I had many readers ask about Ryan, the cousin in my series. I hadn’t planned a book for him and couldn’t work in as long of a story as the brothers had. But (with Samhain Publishing being a good sport) I took a few weeks and wrote Ryan a story and published it myself on Kindle and the Nook. I really had fun with this, so thanks everyone for pushing for it!

Here’s a peek!

Ciara came to Wyattville to reconnect with her half-brother, and use up extra vacation time in the small beach community. What she didn’t planned on was throwing her inhibitions to the wind and falling for a complete stranger.

Ryan Wyatt spends his days serving in the Coast Guard, and his nights flirting with the ladies. He’s the last Wyatt bachelor standing now that his cousins are married. When he meets Ciara he wonders if that’s about to change. Until he discovers she’s the sister of his enemy and then his plan for seduction becomes tinted with vengeance.

*Ryan’s story was written after readers requested it! It’s a short ebook available for .99*
