First I’d love it if you could drop by Micole Black’s blog where I’m being interviewed!

And squee moment! Today my book Need Me comes out from Kensington Aphrodisia! I think it’s in the stores, but it’s definitely available to buy online! And the Kindle edition is out on Thursday (July 1st). Remember this book is HOT!

Nika has trained her body into a deadly weapon—the better to take what she wants from any world, especially the well-protected planet Belton. But the moment she sees Lt. Brendon Marshall, her weapon is turned against her. A man like him could incinerate a woman’s priorities with one look. And since he’s guarding the very object of her desire, it could be so simple to use him and never look back. As long as she can ignore a more intense pleasure than she’s ever known—and a wilder need than she’s ever imagined…

EXCERPT

“Yates, where are you?” Footsteps sounded. “It’s damn quiet in here.”

No! Gods, what was he doing here?

Nika rushed to her feet just as Brendon rounded the corner. She only had a moment as his eyes narrowed and he reached for his weapon.

She charged him with a growl and launched into a side kick, knocking his weapon down before he could activate his electro-mace.

“Son of a bitch,” he cursed and crouched down into fighting position. “What did you do to that soldier back there?”

She didn’t reply, dared not use her voice in any manner except the guttural roars she made while on the attack.

Brendon lurched forward swinging his fist hard at her head. She ducked and planted her foot in his ribs, sending him stumbling backward.

“Nice move, boy,” Brendon taunted, gripping his side. “Did you learn that from your nursery instructor?”

He made fun of her size. Anger sparked in her gut, even as she tried to remind herself it was a good thing that he believed her to be a man.

She wished she could talk with him. Taunt him that he must have the stamina of a teenager to have finished so quickly with that girl to be here now.

But if she gave herself away, then she’d have to kill the asshole. And though the idea certainly held a small amount of appeal, she had no intention of taking a life unless it was absolutely necessary.

“What’s the matter, kid?” Brendon goaded, circling her. “Can’t produce enough spunk of your own, so you have to steal someone else’s?”

Oh gods, he had no idea how close he was. Her lips quirked beneath the mask.

Brendon swung at her head again, and when she went to block it he kicked her leg out from under her.

She fell to the ground, rolling to the right when he made an attempt to straddle her and pin her to the ground. From a distance she could pass as a skinny man, but hands on was stretching it.

“If you killed that soldier in the hallway, I will kill you.” His words were perfectly calm as he advanced upon her again. “To hell with the orders to bring you in alive.”

Bring her in alive? Had they been anticipating this mission? A shiver of unease ran down her spine. How come her instructor had not warned her of the possibility? Had Rachel known?

“You’re worried now, aren’t you, boy?” Brendon gave a soft laugh and lunged at her. “You should be.”

I’m at the Aphrodisia blog giving away a copy of Need Me! Come on by!

http://www.aphrodisiaauthors.com/blog/

First, come on by Cynthia Eden’s blog where I’m blogging and giving away a copy of Need Me!

Welcome to another snippet Saturday! Today’s theme is ‘apologies’. Read my excerpt from Dangerous Grounds and then hop on over to the other blogs participating!

Madison’s needs are simple. All she wants are two things: Make Ooo La Latté the newest trend in espresso, and seduce the sexiest cop in Seattle. But things aren’t going exactly as planned.

First, Gabe’s a little hung up on the fact that she’s his best friend’s little sister, and he’s determined to keep his hands off. Second, her shop gets robbed by the increasingly violent Espresso Bandit, and now she’s the only one who can identify him.

Gabe whisks her into hiding for her own protection, but soon finds his heart is under assault by the luscious—and persistent—Madison. But no matter where they hide, danger follows.

On such dangerous grounds, the trick will be to live long enough to keep the flame alive.

EXCERPT:

This would be hell, having her stay with him. To be sleeping a room away from her. He’d already been praying that his self-restraint would be on par with Maddie’s bad intentions.

Eric had been right about one thing, though. She would be safe with him. And until the Espresso Bandit was caught, he didn’t want anyone to have to worry about her safety.

Gabe dried his hands on a pink towel and glanced in the mirror. For a minute he fantasized about the idea of him being the one to arrest the Espresso Bandit. Get him alone and show the asshole what it felt like to get the shit kicked out of him.

He finished in the bathroom and went to sit on the plush couch in Maddie’s living room. She still appeared to be packing. He could hear her singing an off-key rendition of a Madonna song. He winced. Very off-key. Good thing she hadn’t attempted a career in music.

“I’m almost done, Gabe,” she called from her room. “Feel free to help yourself to anything in the fridge. I think I have some leftover Pad Thai with tofu.”

“Thanks, but you lost me at tofu.”

She emerged from the bedroom carrying a suitcase three times the size she should’ve needed.

He plucked it from her grasp, aware that she was struggling. “You ready?”

“Almost,” she answered, pulling a rubber band off her wrist and fixing her hair into a ponytail. The band snapped off her fingers and flew across the room.

“Damn.” She hurried over to where it landed, bending over to retrieve it.

For the briefest moment she gave him the most tantalizing view of her tight ass. He stifled a groan, wanting to pull down her jeans and panties and fuck her from behind.

She straightened and finished pulling her hair back. “I’m hungry. Can we go grab dinner somewhere?”

Gabe went from having kinky thoughts to getting seriously annoyed. Where did her budget end? Did she eat every meal out?

“I’ve got food at my house.” He ushered her out the door and locked it behind them. “I’ll cook you something.”

She gave him a dubious look. “You cook?”

“It comes out edible. So try not to complain too much while I’m stuck babysitting you,” he replied, further annoyed by her skepticism.

Her eyes widened and he saw a flash of hurt in them. Shit. That had been below the belt. This situation hadn’t been her choice.

They took the elevator downstairs and walked out to his vintage Chevelle. He unlocked the trunk and heard the tiny gasp that came from Maddie. Her face was pale when he glanced at her; her head turned at an awkward angle, like she was trying not to look in the trunk.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.” Her tone grew tight. “It’s just…nothing.”

He slammed the trunk, watching as the tension in her body visibly eased. Hmm. That was odd. He thought about pressing the issue, but decided against it.

“I’m sorry, Maddie. About what I said upstairs. I didn’t mean it,” he said instead, gentling his tone and holding the passenger door open for her.

She blinked at him, looking stunned. Then she shook her head as she climbed into the seat and shut the door.

Why did she look so shocked? Gabe gave her another glance and climbed into the driver’s side of the car. He almost asked what he’d said, and then stopped himself. Some things were better left alone.

EXCERPT:

He found her in a small office near the reception desk, dabbing her eyes with a linen cloth.

His stomach clenched with tenderness, and he stopped in the doorway.

“Molly?”

“Please, I am fine. I promise, Emmett,” she muttered in a rush.

But she wasn’t. Anyone with two eyes could clearly see that.

He stepped inside the office, not waiting to be invited and pressed the door closed. It hissed shut, locking with a metallic click.

“Come here.” He opened his arms and took a step toward her, not sure whether she’d welcome his embrace or think he was crazy for offering it.

To his relief she let out a sniffle and lurched into his arms.

Emmett closed his eyes, wrapping her close against him. It was hard not to notice the light flowery scent she wore, or the curves of her warm body. Or the way her soft breath feathered his chest as she let out little sobs.

“Tell me what happened, sweetheart.”

“Nothing, really. I promise. I have just had the most awful day. My laundress has quit. We have run out of yard bird and probably will have none until Friday,” she said between sniffles. “And then when I was doing my rounds at the tables that man was awful. He…he…”

Emmett tightened his arms around her, his gut telling him he wouldn’t like what she was going to say.

“What happened?”

“He grabbed me and pulled me to the table, squeezing my bottom.” She drew in a shaky breath. “And he said vulgar things about what he could do with a girl like me.”

“Fuck.” Emmett smoothed an arm down her back and ground his teeth together. “I should go right back out there and tell him what I could do to a guy like him. Namely, smash his face in.”

Molly gave a watery laugh. “Please. There is no need. He’s just a crass bounty hunter staying at the lodge. A blood drinker. I’ve dealt with men far worse.”

“But you shouldn’t have to.” He set her back a few inches and lifted her chin with one finger. “You should have droids waiting the tables instead of doing it yourself. Then perhaps this wouldn’t have happened.”

“Droids have their place,” Molly admitted. “But I prefer the personable contact of helping out with my guests. It has proven to be better for business.”

His gaze stroked over her face and he bit back a soft sigh before admitting, “Yes, I must say you’re quite preferable to a droid.”

“Thank you.” Her smile was weak.

“Anytime.” He leaned down and brushed his lips across hers in a quick reassuring kiss.

The moment his lips touched hers, though, any thoughts of it being a chaste touch flew out the window. Her lips were soft and cushiony, a warm welcome for his mouth.

She made a soft noise of surprise and her hands came up lightly against his chest. Lifting her head, she looked up at him with those wide blue eyes.

He felt heat work its way up his neck. “Forgive me, Molly.”

“No.” She shook her head. “Please.”

And then she wrapped her arms around his neck, drawing his head down to hers.

Welcome to another Snippet Saturday! Today’s theme is Risky Business. Read my excerpt and then hop over to the blogs listed below!

When her doggy daycare business is threatened with foreclosure, Renee is at a loss of how to raise the money. Then she remembers something from a diary that has been passed down through her family for generations.

With renewed hope and a slightly crazy plan, Renee decides to crash a party thrown by the descendant of a pirate. She intends to steal back a brooch taken from her ancestor centuries ago. But what she doesn’t realize is that it’s a sex party, and Devon Murray is as notorious as his pirate ancestor.

EXCERPT

Shrugging, she entered the kinky room to search for her clutch.

Inside, she noticed a man, leaning against a wall, who seemed to be
staring at her. Renee slowed her search while trying to get a better look at him. He had long hair pulled back into a ponytail and gold hoops hung
from each ear.

Could this be him? Devon Murray? He certainly had a pirate aura
about him.

He caught her looking and shoved away from the wall,
approaching her with certain deliberation.

“Are you a Domme or a sub?”

“I don’t know,” she answered carefully. “What do you think?”

He smiled, as if what she’d said something funny. “You’re a sub.”

“Ugh, okay…” She winced as he slapped the paddle against is
palm.

“Show me your ass.”

Renee blinked. “Excuse me?”

He swung the paddle and gave her a solid smack on her ass.

“Ouch!” she yelped and leapt away from him. “Hey, you can’t just
hit me with that thing!”

He hit her on the butt again and she cursed. Damn that stung!

“I take it back. I’m the Domme, give me the fucking paddle!”

“Show me your ass,” the man told her and raised the paddle again.

Renee squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for the next blow to fall, but
it never came. She opened her eyes.

The persistent bouncer had the man’s arm restrained at a painful
looking angle.

“This woman is not to be touched,” the bouncer said, his violent
gaze focused on the man in leather. “She belongs to me.”

“What?” Renee’s hands slammed down on her hips. “Now get
this—”

“I‐I’m sorry,” the man in leather stammered. “I didn’t realize she
was yours, Mr. Murray.”

Renee blanched and spun her gaze back to the man she’d thought
to be a bouncer. Oh God. He was Devon Murray? He’d had his hands all over her. She’d enjoyed those hands. The one man she should have kept up her guard against turned out to be the one man who’d gotten closest to her tonight. The sudden rush of dizziness made her grab the wall for support.

The man in leather scurried off to another dark corner, leaving
Renee alone with Devon.

Devon looked at her. “I’m sorry, he was out of line. He’s a little
new at this. I’ll have someone instruct him on the true nature of a
Dominant submissive relationship.”

He must have noticed her deer in the headlights look. “Are you all
right?”

She gave a slow nod, more freaked out now than she had been a
minute ago when paddle guy had smacked her.

“Tell me why you’re here.”

Think fast, Renee. “I wanted to try out some fantasies,” she
stammered.

“Don’t fuck with me, Renee,” he ordered softly. “If that really is
your name.”

Time to cut her losses and run. “I should probably… leave.”

“Leave?” he mocked and reached out to tuck a strand of hair
behind her ear. “The party is just beginning. And you were so eager to
join my party, weren’t you, Renee?”

No, I was eager to rob you blind.Damn. How was she going to get out of this mess?

“You’re in my world now, and we’re going to have a nice long talk,
sweetheart.”
