All month long I’m ‘Sharing the Love’ and giving away other people’s books. (I’ll mail out books once a week to the winners!) So today’s book in my give away is Knight of Desire by Margaret Mallory. IMPORTANT: PLEASE CHECK BACK TOMORROW TO SEE IF YOU WON, WINNERS ARE NOT EMAILED. I’LL PUT IT IN THIS POST’S COMMENTS SECTION!
His surcoat still bloody from battle, William FitzAlan comes to claim the strategic borderlands granted to him by the king. One last prize awaits him at the castle gates: the lovely Lady Catherine Rayburn.
TENDER IN BED
Catherine risked everything to spy for the crown. Her reward? Her lands are declared forfeit and she is given this choice: marry FitzAlan or be taken to the Tower. Catherine agrees to give her handsome new husband her body, but she’s keeping secrets, and dare not give him her heart. As passion ignites and danger closes in, Catherine and William must learn to trust in each other to save their marriage, their land, and their very lives.
I love, love, love, books in this time period, as I’ve told Margaret (who is a chapter member) many times! Something about a Knight. Reeeow.
To win Margaret’s book, just leave a comment and answer this question: If you could live in the time of knights and maidens, would you? Or would the lack of internet be a deal breaker?
And don’t forget to check out my Take Me Away contest here!

I would most definitely want to live back then. TO experience the castle ife on a daily basis would almost make up for no indoor plumbing. While lack of the Internet would be tough, just think of everything you could see, smell and succumb too. And the (k)nights aren’t bad either! (G)
Hi :)
Thanks for holding this great contest.
If I could live in medieval times, would I?
No. There would be no modern medicine.
Yep, I’d stay in the 21st Century with my electricity, food from around the world, refridgerator, microwave, internet, dentist, doctor and malls. (and books!)
:)

The nature lover in me says yes, but the practical side says no. Practical side always wins. *sigh*
Terrible healthcare, short lifespan, LACK OF AIR CONDITIONING (!!!), lack of sanitation and personal hygiene (ick), lack of respect for women, etc.
That’s why I prefer to read about the medieval times in romance novels. I get to skip the icky stuff in favor of the (mostly) good parts.
And yes, I REALLY want this book.
Hum… not sure the lack of WWW would be a problem, but plumbing… I’ve been there, done that, not sure I’d be too happy day to day.
Nice place to visit, not sure I could/would live there.
Congrats on the new release Margaret, this sounds like a great place for a visit!
Dragon
Living in the middle ages? Dude, sorry, but noooo, thank you. In addition to the lack of indoor plumbing and the likelihood that I’ll die in childbirth, there’s all those lovely plagues to contend with. And famine. Starvation! Fun stuff!
But I love to read about all sorts of things I would never want to live through myself. Fantasy, baby.
Of course I would, as long as my handy time travelling device was available to take me back and forth whenever wanted.
Sounds like a great read!
I could never live in the time of knights. I need my hot running water and my modern medicine. Unfortunately, I don’t think I would have made it past birth back then and I probably would have died half a dozen times over from what today are relatively minor problems. But I love to read about the era.
Naaa. Not interested. Now, Early American Colonial times…absolutely!
Thanks for the contest. It would definitely be a deal breaker with any time period that did not have internet. I’m totally addicted and don’t know if I could go a day without it. Have a great day.
Knight of Desire sounds great!
I would definetly live in that time period as long as i was guaranteed to have an extremely sexy knight to share those cold nights with. :)
This Book sounds great thanks for the chance to win it.
I would be interested if only I can be part of the nobility, and if I had a time travel option out of there.
I know, what a wimp. I can’t see myself hauling buckets of water for someone to take a bath. Plus I don’t think it would be that often, either. (taking baths, I mean) And how about wearing all that clothing.
Knight of Desire sounds like a lovely read. Thanks for the giveaway.
I would love to live in the time of knights and maidens, but only for a while. After I’d have seen it all, I’d like to come back to our time.
Sorry, I’ll pass. Just can’t do without books and I doubt they have them in plenty then! I’ll stick to my time! :o)Tamsyn
The winner of Margaret’s book today is Dragon! Congrats Dragon and please email me at shelli @ shellistevens.com with your address!
Be sure to check my blog later today for the next giveaway!
If I could live in Medieval times would I?
Yes, but only if I was wealthy and lived in a castle.
I think it would be neat to live in the time of knights and maidens…BUT I personally wouldn’t do it. It wouldn’t be the lack of internet that would do me in..it’d be the toilet paper and air conditioning! :)
:) I much prefer living in now a days…with the internet, DVD’s and cars!! Couldn’t deal with the horses! Ugh! :P
congrats Dragon!
The answer is yes!! And at the same time no. lack of internet wouldnt be a problem, lack of hygiene products and etc would be a deal breaker.
Still those clothes, castles, if I had been born then i wouldnt know what I was missing
