In follow up to my Aphrodisia blog post, on whether I would or would not do the early morning shopping, here’s the result…

I got up at the butt crack of dawn–or wait, that’d be before the butt crack of dawn–and went shopping this morning! I’d almost decided to skip it. Because there was nothing I really needed….until I saw it. An advertisement for the Leapster with a video game, selling for $35. Marked down from $70. And. It was the pink one. I’ve been jonesing to give this to my kid for Christmas for awhile now (fine motor skills, hand eye coordination!)  And I just couldn’t beat the price.

So, I set my alarm for 4:30, left the house ten minutes later and picked up my friend. The store opened at 5. Amazingly enough the store wasn’t that packed (no big television deals like elsewhere!), so we were only about 10th in line. By the time the door opened it had grown quite a bit. So when they opened the doors, even though we were one of the first in…I ran. Because I needed the exercise and the adrenaline rush. To make me feel like I was really working for it. But we saw an old friend from high school in line and got the chance to talk with her and catch up on life. And now we’re Facebook friends! Yay!
