Favorite movie lines Sunday
A couple weeks back we were discussing 80’s movies on Naughty and Spice, and it made me think of another great 80’s flick.
So without further ado, here’s a great line from an 80’s classic.

Ray, when someone asks you if you’re a god, you say “YES”!
Two good things also came about yesterday. The Seahawks won their first game in the playoffs, and Dangerous Grounds just hit #9 on the MBaM Best Seller list at Samhain! Thanks again to everyone who has bought my book! It means a lot to have such support, and I hope you enjoy the story!
So yesterday was my first RWA meeting serving as President! It was great, although I was still a little scattered from my week that I could have done better. Next month. I do have a fabulous, FABULOUS new board and Vice President whom is so on the ball
Our guest speaker was Mary Buckham and she spoke on Goal Setting in the New Year. She was wonderful and I thought I’d share a few things I learned from her (they may not be exact quotes since I tend to take terrible notes and can barely read my own handwriting–hence the reason my stint as Secretary was so brief!).
- Write goals down and refer back to them
- Action produces results
- How you feel about something, is how you interpret what happens to you (love this one!)
- I choose how I feel and act based on how I perceive life (kind of in the same vein as above).
- A no (rejection) is the fist step to a yes.
- What actions can you take today to shape your ultimate destiny.
- Focus one hour a day on what you want out of life.
- Keep yourself up and energized/focused. Or find a ‘change group’ that will help you do it.
- Don’t settle for a critique group/friends that tell you it’s okay to give up or stop sending out a book. You want someone who will “Bitch slap you,” (straight from Mary’s mouth!)
Oh, and on a final note, the new website is still coming! We had to switch hosting which we didn’t realize took a few day to do. So once my old host approves the switch, we’ll be ready to upload the new site!!

Wow, I’m exhausted! What a week. I tell you I’ve been all over the place this week. I had a big old book release, which I’ve been anticipating for awhile now. Thanks to all who’ve bought Dangerous Grounds. Here’s a big old hug.
I hope you enjoy/ed Madison’s story, and are looking forward to Christy’s story in Tempting Adam which comes out in April! I just saw that Dangerous Grounds hit #10 on the Best Seller list at Samhain!!!
So that really made my day!
This week I also stepped up to President of my RWA chapter and have been sending out emails, writing my first letter from the Pres, getting meetings set…it’s a busy time!
I haven’t even had a chance to blog about New Year’s with Lacy, but it was a lot of fun! Too much champagne, and we some how managed to screw up cheese fondue. It was basically like Silly Putty texture–and taste! And my 4 year old stayed up until 1am. Grah! That was a nightmare. And last night was my daughter’s half sister’s birthday, so we drove up to see her and had a blast. We just adore her family.
Okay so now that I’ve recapped you on my crazy week, I can safely say things should be calming down…somewhat. I have a new website popping up…maybe even today. So be on the lookout!
Happy Friday!

EXCERPT from Dangerous Grounds
Madison knew she had it bad when she couldn’t even bring her own release. She wanted him so much that it became almost a physical pain.
She squeezed her eyes shut and rolled over onto her side, curling her legs up toward her chest and willing the ache between her legs to disappear.
It took almost another hour before she slipped into a light sleep, and instead of being comforted, she found herself reliving the robbery. Except this time, the robber pulled the trigger.
She jerked upright with a cry, dragging the sheets around her. A moment later her door burst open and Gabe’s silhouette filled the doorway.
“Maddie?” He shut the door and came over to the bed. “What’s wrong? I heard you cry out.”
She turned her head away before he could see the shine of tears in her eyes. The dream had been too real.
“Did you dream about him?” Gabe asked, his voice soft. “It’s all right, Maddie. It’s normal. I haven’t seen you break down once yet.”
“I’m not the type to break down,” she mumbled. She urged herself to regain control and not lose it. But the back of her throat burned from choking back the tears, and soon she stopped fighting.
The tears ran down her cheeks and she kept her face averted, trying to hide them.
“Maddie…” He pulled her unresisting body into his arms, sliding back against the bedpost to support them. She buried her head against his chest.
“It’s just sexual tension combined with the post-traumatic stress.” She tried to laugh and it came out choked. “Nothing to worry about. It’d all go away if you’d just have sex with me.”
“You don’t need to make it a joke, Maddie,” he murmured. “It’s nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about.”
Wasn’t it? She hated that she was crying on Gabe’s shoulder. He was always so controlled and seemed so kept together. And now, in between pathetic attempts to seduce him, she sat here bawling her eyes out on his chest. His naked chest. Hmm. She hadn’t noticed that before.
She blinked the last of her tears away and became quite aware of the rapid pounding of Gabe’s heart.
Maybe he wasn’t as controlled as he’d have her believe.
She kept her head against his chest. “You’re not immune to me, Gabe.”
His hand that had been stroking her hair stilled, and then resumed its comforting movements.
“I never said I was.”
