Random fact Wednesday

Stewardesses is the longest word typed with only the left hand.

What I’m listening to:You Spin Me Round, Dead or Alive
I’m the #2 best seller at Samhain at MBaM! But don’t blink (I’m sure as heck not!) because it could disappear. But can I tell you how teary/happy/thrilled/shocked I was to see it when Ember Case nudged me to go check? I’m just… whoa! So anyone who bought my book, you are so wonderful and I love you! And you’ve made me so very happy. I really hope you liked the book.
Speaking of Ember…I read her book Hunting the Huntress and have to say it was pretty darn fabulous. You should check it out. It’s at #6 on the best seller list at Samhain right now. Though this thing changes all the time, so you never know!
I’m so so so close to finishing Taken. Didn’t I say this yesterday? Right. Well, just wrote the black moment and it’s all downhill from here. Seriously. Tonight, this puppy is done. And then it’s re-reading and edits and making it shine before I submit.
All right, off to lunch with gramms for now. Have a fabulous day!

What I’m listening to right now: The Boxer, Simon and Garfunkle
So I’m so so so close to finishing this book. Ignore my little counter in the side bar, because I’m going past 55k. Probably by 1k or 2k. I’m on the home stretch and have about 1 1/4 hour before I must pick the kid up from pre-school. So this is a short post.
I’ve been writing, I’ve been working out (frick I’m sore!) and it snowed last night! And I got a fabulous shout out in Romance Divas from Diva Emily Ryan-Davis about my book Dangerous Grounds. Here’s what I stumbled into the forum to see.. ” I added DANGEROUS GROUNDS as an impulse buy and OMG have you read it? Shelllllllllllli!!!! Nobody said your books are this good!” Talk about making my day! Thanks, Emily. And thanks to Feisty for pointing out the post
So how about I give you some more eye candy to make up for the super short post. Jammie, this one’s for you today. Mr. Matthew Mc-hot-aughey

Favorite movie lines Sunday Okay, don’t hit me here, but I’ve never seen the ‘original’ Sabrina. But I did see the one with Harrison Ford (Yummy) and I absolutely loved it. So here’s one of my favorite line/s from the movie.

Linus Larrabee: [pause] So, your little poem - what does it mean?
Sabrina: It’s the story of a water sprite who saved a virgin from a fate worse than death.
Linus Larrabee: And Sabrina’s the virgin.
Sabrina: [quietly] Sabrina’s the savior.
What I’m listening to right now: You Can’t Always Get You Want, Rolling Stones
So Saturday I finished up my first edits and sent them back to my editor Laurie. Then I watched the Seahawks get the worst arse reaming ever. Like did you see the score? Talk about a snowball’s chance in hell (And I don’t say that snow part lightly! It was a blizzard! We didn’t stand a chance! Okay, we also blew it.) It was awful. I’m still recovering. *Wince* Actually, not true. I’ll say it. I’m a bit of a fair weather fan. I get really excited when my teams kicking butt, and go back to edits/writing when they’re not.
I also wrote over 1k last night. I seem to do that in between 10-11:30pm. So I know I could do more if I wrote more times during the day, but that’s my designated time. That’s when I MAKE myself write. And I’m really, really, having fun with this story Taken. It’s hot and funny…and I hope others like it when it’s done. We shall see!
Friday I watched the last Bourne movie. Mmm. Yummy. Talk about a white knuckle movie though. But yummy. I totally think People made a great call by calling Matt the sexiest man alive last year. He deserves it.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Okay, I’m making my 7 about food, because it’s easy and I’m currently watching the Seahawks get their arse kicked in the playoffs…
1. I don’t really like ice cream, it’s too cold.
2. Chicken is one of the few meats I’ll eat, and I have to throw it away if I find a vein.
3. I love to make crepes. I decided to learn how a few years ago and have been making them ever since.
4. I don’t like seafood really, and mostly because of texture.
5. My weakness is for fried food (I swear I’m southern, sort of)
6. Dill pickles and sharp cheddar are yummy together
7. Bacon is good. I’m a breakfast girl–it’s my favorite meal of the day!

All right, so the past week or so have been a bit…hmm, chaotic? Right. Yes. Quite a bit so. But like my title says, good things are happening!
First, before I say what things, I should announce the winner of my blog contest yesterday. Thanks to all who came by and left comments about my new site–and my object of lust Clive Owen. So I had a third party pick a number between 1-32 (the amount of comments) and they picked 15. So Kris Eton please email what book you’d like and in what format!
Also, before I forget, you should all come visit Naughty and Spice where we have Silhouette Desire author Jen Lewis guest blogging about sex in interesting places!
Okay, onto the good news. And I put in a fun pic to break up the text and give your eyes a rest.

This is my first blog post at my new home (though we did transfer all my old posts!) There may be some unfinished business/links on the site for the next week while I settle in. Stick with me though. But for now, feast your eyes on him…

Random fact Wednesday

The dot over the letter “i” is called a tittle.

What I’m listening to right now: Coldplay, Speed of Sound
Well double good news. First, yesterday I weighed myself for the first time since mid-December. I did not want to know the numbers during the holidays–amidst sweets and treats.

Anyway, I’m DOWN one pound. I didn’t gain any weight over Christmas! So that’s 12lbs down total since September. Slowly, but surely. I worked out again last night and am a little sore. I swear I love having an MP3 player though. Beyonce kicks off my playlist (since my player only goes alphabetically–wtf?!) and she just gets me going.

The second piece of good news is that Dangerous Grounds hit #7 on the best seller list yesterday! It changes daily, sometimes hourly maybe? I don’t know, but I’m always totally excited when it slips lower on the list. And the first review for it just rolled in! (So maybe three pieces of good news!)

“Shelli has done it again. The suspense, mystery and holy smokes—the heat between Gabe and Madison would cause spontaneous combustion without flicking an eyelash… Dangerous Grounds has become the latest keeper in Shelli’s works as far as I’m concerned.” 5 flags, Melisa, Euro Reviews
And in case you haven’t noticed, I’m kind of *cough* getting into this smiley thing. Sorry, they’re addictive.
<---Notice how I emphasized my smiley addiction with another smiley.
Happy Wednesday!

So I kind of like that thing where you say what’s playing on your MP3 player or radio or what not. So I’m adding that to my blog.
What I’m listening to right now: Fergie, Big Girls Don’t Cry (I just heard this song the other day and loved it!)
All right, well it’s flashback Tuesday and thus I bring you….

Garbage Pail Kids! Do you remember these? I loved them. Would buy them all and trade with my friends. Because I was cool like that.
And as all fabulous trends from the 80’s, I think these are making a return. Have you seen them in the stores?
So I worked out last night with my friend, the army girl, and I’m telling you I’m going to be so sore later. Not only did I go on a 1/2 hour brisk walk in the morning, I did a 1/2 hour of fast elliptical (it’s amazing what having a workout play list to listen to can do!), and then 20 minutes of lower body exercises. Ouch. Ouch.
And Dangerous Grounds still seems to be doing good at Samhain, so I’m a happy girl.
And I’m writing like a made fool to finish Taken (the third book in the Seattle Steam series!).

So everyone have a happy Tuesday!

Come visit Naughty and Spice and hear why I feel old. And why it’s probably a good thing I didn’t go into teaching…
