Random Fact Wednesday
Seattle’s average rainfall is 36.2 inches per year, which is less than New York City which gets 47.25 inches per year
We’ve had some crazy weather here in the state of Washington over the last week (in case you missed it all over the National news!) Snow one day, then hurricane force winds and massive rain/flooding. This was a picture I took a couple days ago of a street just a block and a half from my house. And trust me, this is the tame pictures. In other areas cars are under water, roads are collapsing,–not to mention parts of I5 (the major highway that connects Seattle to Portland) have literally become part of the river and are shut down.
So here’s a line I wrote today that will (sadly?) never see the light of my book. My characters are camping, and they just ate breakfast. And in real life, this is how a post campfire breakfast kiss would go.
His mouth was greasy goodness, plundering hers as the faint taste of bacon tickled her tongue.
Alas, I knew this was just a little too (well, gross, Deanna said) realistic. So instead I came up with this…
He tasted of coffee and man. Primitive and natural like the forest that surrounded them.
Have a great Wednesday!!

Hey Shelli!
Glad to hear you escaped the brunt of the storm. We were lucky too — we just happen to live a block from one of the Red Cross designated shelters, so you know we’re high and dry!
I took some pics today of the flooding — they’ll probably end up on my blog at some point. :)
And I definitely vote for the second kiss line. LOL
LOL! Greasy goodness - now I’m in the mood for bacon. Good save.
I had bacon and coffee for breakfast. Wanna smooch?
LOL I wanna smooch Kristen…
I kinda like the line tho — but I don’t want to kiss anyone who has a greasy goodness kind of mouth. ;)
Stay dry girlfriend!
Yikes, glad you’re okay.
The first line is a giggle, but the second *sigh*
Eek! The vegetarian in me is shocked. I accused hubby of tasting like a lamb chop last night *grin*
I prefer the second. Definitely.
I hope your weather improves. I needed an umbrella this morning, that’s for sure. We get a lot of rain!
