Flashback Tuesday’s!
So I’m walking through the mall today, cruising through a department store. I’m breezing by the clothes, on a mission just to get my car and home before the winds hit (crazy weather day with wind and floods!). Anyway, my gaze catches on this shirt. Kind of dressy, cute, white… with a snappable crotch. Wait, snappable crotch!? No, I wasn’t eyeballing a Onesie in the infant department. I was smack dab in Misses. And that’s when it hit me. They’re baaaack.
The Adult Onesie. Those God awful shirts/body suits that were so darn popular when I was in high school. Where it looked good–okay not even good–on one chick in the entire class. Everyone else looked like an overgrown teenager trying to wear baggy jeans over their gymnastics leotard. And it glorified every roll and imperfection on their body.
I have to say, this is one trend I never fell into. Thank God. Yes, I may have worn spandex under a t-shirt with a Native American face on it (not to mention I wore glasses and sported a hair cut like Sideshow Bob) but I NEVER wore the Adult Onesie.
So now tell me, did you wear them? Or would you now that it’s popularity is being resurrected?

Oh Gawd I wore ‘em. I was working retail back then and I wore them under my *gasp* flannel shirts. Hey it was the early 90s man! Grunge was in! And so were snappable crotches!
I was skinnier then too so I could carry it off better. Certainly not a look I would torture myself with now, oh no…
Oh that’s right! People wore flannels over them!! (Seattle girl that I am, I know about the grunge thing!) I wore flannels, but over my Native American t-shirt! :D
Nope, never wore one. And I’m hoping to God that this trend doesn’t make it to this side of the Atlantic *glances down miserably at her tummy bulges*
Oh, God no. All I can think is how uncomfortable they must be, especially for those of us tall people blessed with long torsos!
I can’t believe that crap is back! I never really got into them. How does it make sense to have a snappable crotch? We are adults!
Lmao. I can’t believe these are back! Like Karen, I must confess, my skinny days may have seen one or two of these lol. ;)
I did…but I wouldn’t be caught dead in one now!
