So my daughter is turning four on Monday! It’s her first year in pre-school, and so I’m sending her to school with cupcakes on Thursday. Now I’m an okay cook, but I LOVE to bake. So I Googled around to find a famous cupcake recipe (no really, my keywords: famous cupcake recipe) And I found one! So I did a test run on the recipe, to make sure kids would eat it! I made cupcakes and the frosting from scratch (OMG like one stick of butter and a box of powdered sugar went into the frosting!) The result ——->

They kind of tasted like a fluffy sugar cookie (and sadly I hate sugar cookies!) but the testers liked them, and I think they’ll go over well. I just really wanted to bring something homemade. I wanted to be a Betty (Crocker, that is).

On a YAY! note, I just learned that Primal Attraction came it at #3 on the Best Seller list at Cobblestone Press for October, and two reviews recently came in for it. This is my futuristic/shifter that came out at the beginning of October. I’m excited! I really enjoy writing the futuristic stuff in addition to the lighter/contemporary stuff.

“Primal Attraction is a phenomenal story… Set at a steady pace this story will capture your attention from the beginning to the end. Exceptional dialog and an entertaining story line tossed in with primal love scenes complete this tale. This is one book that will have you howling for more.” 4 cups, Wateena Coffee Time Romance

“Primal Attraction is a terrific read with elements of traditional sci-fi, fantasy, paranormal, mystery and romance. It packs quite a punch for a short story! Although Ms. Stevens’ world is not Earth, she makes it feel comfortable and familiar and you are right at home there…The plot is filled with past lies and deceit… The romance between Sarina and Caden has quite a few bumps along the way, which makes it all the more interesting… I really enjoyed Primal Attraction and recommend it as a great way to enjoy an afternoon read.” 4 stars, Sandi, JERR

You bake yummy looking cakes and receive amazing reviews for your books - you are my guru! Congratulations. I looked at your blog because I read your comment on someone else’s blog where you wrote that you just write write write. Good job!

Please visit my blog and let me know what you think of my cover design as you’re clearly way ahead of me in this writing lark. You’re welcome to visit any time. Fellow writers are always welcome. And have fun with your daughter - mine are grown up and left home now (sigh). I know everyone says this, and it doesn’t seem true, but the time really does go quickly.

Happy Birthday to your little one! I’ve been meaning to ask you how her preschool was going. I know you were nervous in the beginning. My daughter isn’t in preschool yet but she goes to a little class one day per week and the past two weeks the teacher said she’s been a terror! I’m gettting nervous, lol.

Awwww, happy birthday, I love kid birthdays. :)

I saw a whole thing on the news last week where some schools have banned cupcake and you have to bring in fresh fruit instead. =O I WANT MY CUPCAKES! lol

    Hey Shelli,

The cover for “Primal Attraction” rocks! I bought the book yesterday. I used to edit for Cobblestone Press under the name “Michelle Foxe” and, since I was your editor for “Love for Sale” (a great read everyone), I posted the cover on my lovebitesforever.blogspot.com. I also blogged about NanoWriMo if you or anyone else is doing it this year, officially or “unofficially.” Congrats again!
