Kids are crazy. They do crazy things that are so completely dangerous it nearly gives the parents a heart attack. So I racked my brain a few months ago, thinking of how I could explain the ‘that could kill you!’ result to some actions. Sooo I came up with something. Maybe not the brightest. But my kid loves Disney movies. And I made a comparison to one movie to help her understand. So this morning, I hear my daughter yelling to the cat…

Neo! Get out of the window or you’ll fall down and die like Bambi’s mom!”

Yeah. Maybe that wasn’t the best choice in how to describe death, but I think she gets it now.

So I’m making a costume for this Halloween party I’m going to. I’m going to be a nymph! (Thanks to Sasha White for the idea!) I’m getting all kinds of creative. Instead of just buying an autumn-ee floral wreath for my head, I decided to make one. Partly because they’re hard to find and the ones I did were darn expensive. So I thought I’d share a before picture, even though I don’t yet have the after. I bought the wrong size glue for my glue gun (I’m new at this!) So here it is…all the materials for my wreath. About $20 for everything you see in the pic.

So I was on Cafe Press making a Naughty and Spice tote bag the other day, when I got suckered into browsing ‘writer’ shirts. Anyway, I ending up buying two shirts to work out in at the gym. The one below is so much fun that I just had to share.

Anyway, hopefully we’ll be off to the pumpkin farm today. We’ll see! I hope everyone has a great weekend :)

Come visit Sable Grey at Naughty and Spice where she’s discussing using real life people in a fiction book. Like in her newest book she includes Jack the Ripper. Come by to chat, and for a chance to win a copy of Something Wild!

So I received a couple new reviews lately and had to share since they made me all giddy/happy and such :)

Romance Junkies on Trust and Dare

TRUST AND DARE is an erotic tale of revenge, penance and ultimately letting go of the past… a wonderful combination of sexual heat and tender emotions that had me cheering for Mason and Abby as they fell in love. With a strong voice and witty conversation, Ms. Stevens pens a novel well worth reading. All in all TRUST AND DARE is a well-rounded tale that has found its place on my keeper shelf.” 4.5 ribbons, Jenn Romance Junkies

JERR on Cabin Fever

“Cabin Fever is a hot novella that is an enjoyable read with charming characters and fabulous chemistry…. perfect for the upcoming cold winter nights – whether you are expecting snow or not!” 4/5 stars, Elizabeth Marie, JERR (Just Erotic Romance Reviews)

Okay, onto other things. So I got tagged again, this time by Shonna and Moira. Since I’ve done this so many times and you all know me pretty well now, I’ll try something else.

8 things I fantasize about… (I think this is my favorite list!)

1.) Traveling around Europe and meeting some sexy man who sweeps me off my feet.

2.) Be the voice (singing and speaking) in an animated Disney movie. Yes, I really want to be the next Belle.

3.) Getting signed by an agent, who then proclaims to love my book, which then goes to auction, which garners me enough of an advance to buy a house (hey this is a FANTASY!) and then promptly becomes a best seller.

4.) Hiring a chef who can cook low fat, tasty meals for me (mostly vegetarian) and would de-vein my chicken before serving it to me.

5.) Hiring a personal trainer who can give me a body like Halle Berry.

6.) A little house near the ocean, with lots of land (trees too!) for Emma to play on, horses to ride, and strong virile men who work the land.

7.) Have a second home in England or Ireland…or heck maybe both.

8.) Taking my daughter to Disneyland when she’s old enough to not be freaked out by a life sized Mickey Mouse. (Yes, it’s a simple one. But it’s true!)

Come visit me at Naughty and Spice where I’m discussing one of my downfalls. I’m costumely challenged and I need your help.

You know I don’t usually blog on the weekend, but I have to say I’m so freaking annoyed right now. So annoyed. Because I just saw THE WORST MOVIE ever made. And I’m disappointed. Because an actress I really like was in it. I usually Speed to go see her movies. Do you have a Premonition of what actress and what movie I’m talking about? Well you should by now. Since I just said it and italicized it. That’s right. It’s Premonition.

Oh. My. God. That’s two hours of my life I’m never getting back. Never. And it just annoys me to all heck. Because I don’t watch many movies. Maybe twice a month. Last week I watched French Kiss and was on an emotional high for like days. That movie is fabulous. Premonition is like something I found on the bottom of my shoe at a frat party. I’m not going to say any spoilers about the movie. I’m just here to tell you how much it sucked. And I beg you, please, please, please don’t see it. And if you did see it, tell me I’m not alone here. Tell me you thought it sucked beyond suckage.

Thank you to everyone who visited my blog as part of the Octoberfest blog parade. I’ve drawn a random winner, and the person is… bluecat! So please contact me and tell me which electronic book off my backlist (or today’s release) that you’d like to have and in what format! Congrats :)

So today Primal Attraction releases from Cobblestone Press as part of their Octoberfest celebration. Here’s a blurb and excerpt to tempt you (hopefully!) and thanks for hanging out!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Old Centuron should have been a forgotten colony, but when Sarina arrives to do research, she confronts the brutal reality of how wrong she was. Now prisoner to a man who is both wolf and human, she faces a shocking truth and an undeniable passion.

Brief EXCERPT:

Sarina stumbled backward, her eyes widening and her blood pounding in a potent combination of fear and horror. She grabbed the trunk of the tree, the only way she was able to stay upright as she watched the wolf transform into a large, muscular, completely naked man. His hair was black, his face a mass of hard angles.

A high pitched whine indicated the pod was lifting off the ground. Her last chance! Without pausing to analyze that thing in front of her, she bolted past him, rushing toward the pod.

“Wait!” she screamed. “Reynard, don’t leave me—”

Arms snapped around her waist and jerked her backward. The air rushed from her lungs as she slammed against the chest of the man behind her. The forest swallowed her shrill scream as she struggled against him. She spotted a severed hand a few feet away, and her scream grew louder and more hysterical.

“Silence,” he commanded. One arm slid under her ribcage and tightened just below her breasts.

The thing spoke English? She slammed her head backward into his, hoping to stun him into dropping her. He cursed and his grip tightened, while stars danced behind her eyes. What the hell was his skull made of? Iron?

“Foolish woman,” he growled and grabbed her braid, tugging her head backwards so that her throat was bared, and she was rendered immobile. “Be still.”

Icy sweat broke out all over body, and her heart beat so hard she knew he could hear it. With her head angled back, she had the perfect view of the pod flying straight up into the atmosphere.

She was alone on this planet. With this thing. All her crew had either been butchered or had abandoned her. Terror swept through her, leaving her weak.

“What are you?” The words left numb limps.

So it’s October. The month of leaves, pumpkins, candy, and sweaters. Where everywhere you look there are shades of orange, gold, and brown. I love fall. Love it, love it, love it. I love the crisp air that warns you that winter is on the way. I love throwing on a cable knit sweater with some jeans and boots, and walking among the colorful trees that occasionally drop a leaf at my feet.

But there’s another side to October. No, I’m not talking about the urge to drink an insane amount of beer. I’m talking about the side that raises the hair on the back of your neck; where you question all the things that go bump in the night; where you wonder what if. And each year for the month of October, Cobblestone Press delves into that side. All books released during the month deal with the paranormal of some sort, some focusing on Halloween night itself.

My book Primal Attraction releases this Friday. This book was a thrill to write. Deanna (one of Cobblestone’s publishers) knew I was on a futuristic spree. I’d just completed a single title book (The Captured Rose) and was quite eager to write another futuristic/sci fi type book. So I offered to write and submit a novella for Octoberfest. Not only is it futuristic it’s also a shifter. My hero is not 100% human…

Here’s a little peek at the plot.
