So I discovered the coolest thing (yes, apparently I’ve been living in a cave the past few years!) All my computer time is spent on a laptop. In bed, in a chair, at the table, but mostly it’s with that computer sitting, well, on my lap. And you know, those suckers get HOT. I started to get tired of those nasty burns up and down my legs. So then came the process of shoving pillows under my laptop, and having to lift my hands to type.
The other day I went to Office Max to pick up some more paper and ink cartridges. Of course I had to peruse the aisles to see what other fun things they had. And I saw…this!
They actually make desks to put on your laps so you don’t burn your ovaries into oblivion! I’m so excited! I waited a few days, telling myself it was a luxury item I can’t afford right now. But then this morning, as I drove past the store, I said screw it. I wanted that luxury item. And now… as I type to you, I do so on my beanie bag, plastic lap desk. It’s the best!!!
Sven is still kicking my butt on the Seventy Days of Sweat. I’ve written almost 9k since Monday (and I do most of my writing at night! So it should be over 10k by Friday morning!) I’m like 5k away from finishing my book! I’m so absolutely excited. This book I wasn’t sure I’d ever finish. I kept putting it aside for other projects. But then, after writing a Brava entry, I vowed to finish it before the Seattle conference. And now I have! Or will by the end of the weekend!
So I have my costume party tomorrow, and have been working away on my costume. And here’s a picture of me doing a ‘trial run’ with the hair and makeup. So you saw in a pic from a previous post all the materials to make my head piece, and here it is in it’s finished glory. It only took a couple of hours to make! Pretty cool, huh?
