Today’s fortune cookie fortune is…..
You will inherit a sum of money from a surprising source.
Ummm…. all I have to say is: wouldn’t that be nice. And it certainly would be surprising.
So we’re like two weeks out from the kid starting pre-school. I cannot wait. I have gone on a shopping blitz for her. Ebay, consignment shops, thrift shops and (splurge) the Gymboree sale. My kid is going to have a wardrobe twice as big and nice as her mom. Sigh. I love having a little girl, it’s like having a doll to dress again. Is that wrong?
The weekend was fun, I actually did things. I blogged earlier about the Mariners game I went to on Friday. Saturday I had a girls morning: crepes and chickflick, with a couple friends. I made strawberry crepes (I am like the crepe making queen!) and we watched How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. And I swear, I love that movie. Who ever wrote it, I drool over their talent. Then Saturday night I went to a surprise birthday party for my old Tae Kwon Do instructor (I say old as in I haven’t been to TKD in a couple years.) That was fun, I saw lots of old friends. Though my kid couldn’t quite sit still for the slower parts. Sigh.
Yesterday was the best! Took the kid down to see her sister (half) and they went swimming and spent almost the whole day together. It was just so sweet. I’m so glad they have each other. I often giggle that I’m good friends with my ex-boyfriend’s second ex-wife and her family, but seriously, they mean the world to me. And I hope they know it! There always so good to us. And my kid just adores her big sister!
So as I’ve said in the past, writing is in my family. My dad’s cousin is a successful regency writer, and helped me get started writing. My two cousins are also aspiring authors. One is working on a fantasy. And my other cousin, younger just finished a Christian YA novel. I just read it, and I have to say I was very impressed! It’s a first book, so it needs a little tweaking, but really, I think she could really have a shot for that market!
Okay, now that you’ve been filled in on my week, and partial week off to celebrate the sister-in-law’s birthday! Ciao!
