My book Cabin Fever just came out from Cobblestone Press! I’m so excited! Here’s some more info :)
When her roommate, needing a romantic weekend with her boyfriend, bribes her out of the house with use of an isolated cabin, Nikki reluctantly agrees. She didn’t realize the cabin came fully equipped with an uptight, yet incredibly sexy, man.
Chase is looking forward to a quiet weekend alone at his cabin. When he tackles someone who he believes to be an intruder, he’s surprised to find the unusual and sensual woman was given a key to his place.
Stuck together during a snowstorm, the heat from the fire isn’t the only thing heating up the cabin.
Nikki pulled the car forward and parked it in front of the cabin. She climbed out, dragging the suitcase after her, and stomped up the wooden steps to the door.
Fumbling in her purse, she tried to find the key Shaylee had given her. Damn. It sure was dark. Didn’t people in the boondocks believe in porch lights?
Her fingers closed around the cold metal key, just as a yawn popped her jaw. Bed. That was the only thing on her mind. Screw the s’mores. Those could wait until breakfast.
She unlocked the door and swung it inward, reaching inside the door to find a light switch. Nothing.
Swearing under her breath, she stepped inside and kicked the door shut behind her. There had to be at least one light in this cabin.
Stretching her arms out and squinting—as if narrowed eyes would give her a better chance of seeing anything in the pitch black—she ran her hands over the smooth wooden walls.
No light switch, just more wall. Wall. More wall. Wait, what was that? Something warm, and…hairy?
“What the—” She jerked her hand back, just as arms wrapped around her waist and lifted her off her feet.
The war cry that erupted from whoever was behind her mixed with her terrified screams.
The person—a man, it felt like—held her high against his chest as he crossed the cabin.
“Don’t hurt me! Oh, fuck, please don’t hurt me!” The air rushed from her lungs as she was flung onto a bed or couch. Fear clogged in her throat, and her blood pounded.
She rolled away in an attempt to escape from whoever it was, but he was already on top of her, pinning her hands above her head with a knee on each side of her waist.
Shit! If she got out of this alive, she would beat the crap out of Shaylee. Who the hell sends her friend up to an isolated cabin to get raped?
He transferred her wrists to one hand and lifted himself away a tiny bit. She heard him click on a lamp, and bright light filled the room. She squinted her eyes shut, crying out in pain.
“Who are you? Breaking and entering is illegal in case you didn’t know.”
His voice was rough, raspy, and—God, she was stupid for thinking it—damn sexy.
“Who am I?” she peeked at him through one eye, wondering if the man would match the voice. Yes, unfortunately. “I’m the bitch who’s about to have you arrested.”
Arrested? Was the woman nuts? Chase eyed the woman beneath him warily. She certainly looked a little…different.
Her black hair was in two braids, each one coming to rest just below her chin. Green eyes, rimmed in dark black eyeliner, glared up at him. Her tongue darted out across the lush mouth, tracing over the faded red lipstick stain.
His gaze moved lower to the tight black sweater that hugged full breasts. His cock stirred slightly, and he bit back a groan. Stop looking at her tits. He glanced lower, noting the obscenely tiny black and white plaid skirt that revealed pale white thighs below. Thighs which soon disappeared into knee-high, laced-up black boots.
He shook his head. Christ. Only he would catch a kinky gothic chick trying to break into the cabin he was using for the weekend.

Kiss Of The Dragon… By Lacy Danes.
Meet Nora and Chester… Nora can read energies and is human, Chester is sexy weredragon.
Turning in to the lab Nora jolted to a standstill as her breath locked in her lungs. A tall man hunched in front of the computer on the far wall. She paused in the doorway and tried to get her lungs to expand. His copper hair curled against the collar of his tailored, black, leather biker jacket, catching the dim glow of the computer room in the curls.
His snug, fitted attire showed off his body to perfection. Her eyes widened as she probed past his facade and tingled as his entire body glowed with a bluish-gold energy. The intensity of the aura pulled at her. She had never experienced anything like his vibrance before. Who was she trying to fool? His energy? Right… My gosh, what an awesome ass.
She ran her tongue along her lips then snagged her lower one between her teeth, the flesh between her thighs tingled. Gosh, she was horny. She’d searched for a dish as yummy as this guy her entire trip in Hawaii.
Must be the new guy and he no doubt possessed a sixth power. That would be one explanation for the glow.
St. John said he was a wiz, and the project would get past the detector’s hurdle because of him. Bet a breakthrough hit him in his sleep and to get ingenious discovery off his mind, he came into work. She smiled. Just her luck… no one around but her and an incredibly sexy man.
She cleared her throat in the computer hum of the room, and he turned in slow motion. Her heart seized in her chest and her throat closed, controlling her breath.
Blue eyes so intense, so deep and clear, met hers and wetness slid from her pussy and pooled in her panties. Oh. She wanted to shift her stance at the sudden dampness but didn’t dare.
His eyes held hers, a smile of pure sex on his face. He was beautiful. His skin, pale and clear, with a sprinkle of small freckles across his nose. Somewhere within her a familiarity tickled, and this moment played in her mind like deja vu. The corner of his mouth quirked, and his gaze dropped ever so slowly to her lips.
Her mouth parted, and she felt the drag of his lips and his tongue across hers as if she’d kissed him for years. The memory imprinted deep in her soul. Her limbs trembled, and she shivered, gooseflesh priming her skin.
A man had never aroused lust in her so intensely before. Her skin tingled just standing there admiring him. Oh. She needed to kiss him, to feel what her subconscious remembered. Desire, a memory, and belonging, pulled not only her sensual self but also her power.
She couldn’t resist.
This was destiny. Not that she was perceptive to what destiny was. Her life played out anyway but what she wished. God, just look at how her Dad treated her, when he actually took the time to acknowledge her existence. She shuddered remembering the sting of his words, ‘You’re crazy’, as his hard hand slapped her face and she cried. She bit her lip and devoured the blue eyed man with her stare. Time to do something she lusted for. She stepped forward and the man leaned his hip on the counter’s edge, and watched her with a gaze that said he owned her.
Don’t make a fool of yourself. She clutched her Pluto mug and set the cup down by her computer, then continued past the never ending counter to him. God, he wouldn’t stop staring at her.
She halted three feet from him and raised her eyebrows. “Who are you?” the words so soft they lacked all fortitude and held a sense of awe. Could she be any more desperate to touch him?
“Chester, Chester Shields.” He held out his hand in an invitation to shake it.
Her eyes widened. Could she touch him? What an odd contradiction. Not one second before she pined for that in every way. But now… She thought it better not to be here at work. One touch from him and without a doubt she wouldn’t be able to stop. She would end up straddling him and humping him like a dog. My God. A lump formed in her throat. She wanted that. Her gaze took in the lab. No one was here. So would it matter?
“Nice to meet you, Chet.”
His smile broadened and he slowly lowered his hand, placed his fingers on his thigh, and squeezed his… Oh my! Was that what she thought it was? A hard dick the width and length of a paper towel core lay against his thigh under his hand as he squeezed the roundness.
“No, not Chet. Chester.” His voice low and husky then laughed at her.
Her gaze snapped to his face.
His eyes flamed with blue smoke. “Only those bound to me call me Chet.” He winked.
What? What was he talking about?
“Oh.” Did he say bound? Her brows drew together, and her nipples pebbled hard. She wouldn’t mind being tied up by him as he did wicked things to her, if that was what he meant. She wanted to relive the memories in her soul. To relive his kiss.
He shifted and crossed his legs at his ankles as if waiting for her to say more. She stared at his black Cole Hanns, then let her gaze go higher, up his long, lean legs, until she reached the zipper to his pants. His hand still covered the ridge on his thigh and his thumb traced the tip of his erection.
The image of his long, naked legs tangled with her short plump ones flashed before her and she gasped. His hips rubbing her bottom, the hot skin of his dick pressing into the pucker of her ass. A wave of heat and cold washed through her body and she grew fevered and clammy all at once. She struggled to breath and squeezed her butt cheeks together. Yum. Anal sex was one of her favorites. She shivered. What an image.
Warmth infused her cheeks, and she slowly raised her eyes to meet his again. One of his brows inched up in question and his smile grew bigger, mocking her. Were her thoughts that obvious? His lips twitched and his chest vibrated as if holding in a chuckle.
“Yes, dear. They are.” He reached out and wrapped his searing fingers around her wrist, then pulled her hand to his cock.
Okay, I totally have a confession. I bid on and won a Nora Roberts Bobble head doll on Ebay. I have this brother who collects impressive baseball player bobble heads. And then at Nationals I heard Nora had one…I kept thinking how cool is that?
So I searched for it on Ebay (there were a few and dang it I kept getting outbid on other auctions!) and I finally won one. So it’s going to go up on top of my television with my stuffed Armadillo (bought it at the Dallas airport after the talk at Nationals) and my Casanova figurine. All my inspirational writing stuff I love to look at. Of course, if it’s like Casanova, my daughter will end up swiping it to play with along side her Polly Pockets.
Anyway, here’s one of those complete pointless survey things that I was tagged by Emma Petersen to do.
Four jobs Ive had or currently have in my life: 1. Writer 2. Medical Assistant 3. Network Analyst 4. Dispatcher
Four countries Ive been to: 1. Ireland 2. England 3. Mexico 4. Canada
Four places Id rather be right now: 1. England 2. Ireland 3. Hawaii 4. Boston
Four foods I like to eat: 1. Cheese 2. Chocolate 3. Crepes 4. Strawberries
Four personal heroes, past or present: 1. Cherry Adair. I won a trip to Nationals from her and she is so supportive. 2. My parents have been pretty cool in helping me raise my daughter, they’re a unit so they count as one. 3. My daughter 4. Jammie and Jada
Four books you’ve read or are currently reading: 1. Surrender by Pamela Clare 2. When Good Things Happen To Bad Boys by HeleKay Dimon, Lori Foster, Erin McCarthy 3. Chill Factor by Sandra Brown 4. The New Ellia by my cousin Polly (not yet published, was reading it to critique! It’s good!)
Four words or phrases you would like to see used more often: 1. Auction 2. Offer 3. Impeach 4. four book deal
Four reasons for ending a friendship: 1.I don’t… they may end it, but I don’t . I can’t understand how you can ‘end a friendship’. The only friendships that I’ve had that ended abruptly was by the other person ending it. And the couple times it has happened, I chalked it up to the person being a little unstable. But the bottom line is if they’re your friend, I figure you can work through whatever problems may arise. Friendships that fade organically, though, that’s just the life.
Four smells that make you feel good about the world: 1. Ocean 2. Rain 3. Mountain air 4. My kid after she takes a bath
Emma’s question: Four favorite activities you did as a kid: 1. slumber parties 2. fishing 3. writing commercials and filming them with the video recorder 4. gymnastics
I’m tagging anyone who reads my blog and gets inspired to do this! Tag, you’re it!
You will inherit a sum of money from a surprising source.
Ummm…. all I have to say is: wouldn’t that be nice. And it certainly would be surprising.
So we’re like two weeks out from the kid starting pre-school. I cannot wait. I have gone on a shopping blitz for her. Ebay, consignment shops, thrift shops and (splurge) the Gymboree sale. My kid is going to have a wardrobe twice as big and nice as her mom. Sigh. I love having a little girl, it’s like having a doll to dress again. Is that wrong? :)
The weekend was fun, I actually did things. I blogged earlier about the Mariners game I went to on Friday. Saturday I had a girls morning: crepes and chickflick, with a couple friends. I made strawberry crepes (I am like the crepe making queen!) and we watched How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. And I swear, I love that movie. Who ever wrote it, I drool over their talent. Then Saturday night I went to a surprise birthday party for my old Tae Kwon Do instructor (I say old as in I haven’t been to TKD in a couple years.) That was fun, I saw lots of old friends. Though my kid couldn’t quite sit still for the slower parts. Sigh.
Yesterday was the best! Took the kid down to see her sister (half) and they went swimming and spent almost the whole day together. It was just so sweet. I’m so glad they have each other. I often giggle that I’m good friends with my ex-boyfriend’s second ex-wife and her family, but seriously, they mean the world to me. And I hope they know it! There always so good to us. And my kid just adores her big sister!
So as I’ve said in the past, writing is in my family. My dad’s cousin is a successful regency writer, and helped me get started writing. My two cousins are also aspiring authors. One is working on a fantasy. And my other cousin, younger just finished a Christian YA novel. I just read it, and I have to say I was very impressed! It’s a first book, so it needs a little tweaking, but really, I think she could really have a shot for that market!
Okay, now that you’ve been filled in on my week, and partial week off to celebrate the sister-in-law’s birthday! Ciao!
So like I said earlier, I have plans this weekend. I have somewhat of a social life! Tonight (Friday) night was such a blast. My best friend, her hubby and I went to the Mariners game! We showed up early enough to get a free Raul Ibanez bobblehead (which I’m such a nice sister I’ll give it to my oldest brother who collects such things.)
Oh my lanta it has been too long since I went to a game! It was so exciting! At one point a foul ball landed right between my friend and her hubby (then bounced to the boy behind us) I was trying to take cell pics and totally blew my chance to grab it. BAD ME! And apparently, I have the ability to curse the game. The Mariners were up 5 to nothing, and I said ‘Man, we’d really have to drop the ball to lose this one.’ I kid you not, right after I said that (And the friend’s hubby warned me I’d just cursed them) we walked three batters, and then they hit a home run making it a grand slam. The score was then 5 to 4 and our lead was slim. Fortunately we still won!
Awesome game! I took a really bad cell phone video (my first attempt at a video) of Ichiro getting a triple off a bunt! It’s only 17 seconds, and not very good, but check it out to experience the excitement through my eyes!
P.S. Trust and Dare #4 for a few hours! (Thanks, Samantha for the heads up!)
Today’s fortune cookie fortune from lunch with gramms:
Success will be yours at home and in business in the next month.
I can handle that. Success in business would hopefully mean some fabulous news on my sci fi The Captured Rose. And at home…hmm. More writing time when Emma starts going to pre-school? YEAH!
I’m so excited. She’s fully potty trained, no accidents, and most mornings wakes up dry!
So I spent the weekend at my family’s cabin. All the family was up there, including my three brothers. Why the big gathering when the cabin is about the size of an apartment? It’s fishing season. And every time one of the men catch a salmon, they walk right up to window gripping the bloody fish by the gills and display it with pride. I swear, I almost expect them to say ‘Ug! Woman start fire now!’ or something. It’s a guy thing. Emma loves it. Starts dancing around screaming, “Uncle Mark caught two salmon!!!”
Unfortunately, or is it fortunately? I don’t eat salmon. Not since I was eight and one of my brother’s told me there were worms in it. I’m old enough now to no better, and that he was just trying to get a bigger helping, but I still have issues sometimes eating something that used to be alive.
I have big fun plans this weekend, which I’ll blog about on Saturday (seriously, hold me to that!)
Trust and Dare is still doing great (it hit #5 best seller status for about 12 hours, lol, before shooting back to #6!) so thank you majorly to all who’ve bought it! I hope you like it :)
There it is! My book is #7 on the best seller list! I’m THRILLED! I’m a new author at Samhain, and it’s only been out one week! So to anyone who bought my book, thanks so much and here’s a (((BIG HUG!))) …and I hope you liked it :)
Onto a completely random topic…
Today I was watching that movie Cars, you know? The cartoon Disney movie? (I actually really love it, and love the song from it Real Gone by Sheryl Crow) Anyway, you know what I found myself doing? Analyzing the sexual chemistry between Lightening McQueen (the race car) and Sally (The Porsche). Does that mean I’ve officially become weird? Or just a bonafide romance writer.
