So I ordered that formal dress from Ebay on the 21st of June, and I still haven’t gotten it. STILL. Usually it’s two weeks tops, and I rarely wait that long. Fortunately, I happened to see another somewhat cheap formal dress (under $35 on a clearance section of a website) and bought is just in case the Ebay dress didn’t fit or arrived too late. GOOD THING. I mean, technically I still have 3 possible mailing days to receive it, but still. Grrrr. This is cutting it close.

And now, I have to tell you how burnt I am. I really should disclaim it with: I am not one of those people who go out in the sun and bake like a tuna casserole. I’m totally pro sunblock. But today I started thinking a little color wouldn’t hurt me. So I waited until the peak hours of hottness had faded, then took the kid out to play in the wading pool. I liberally applied sunblock to her skin and then skipped it for me. I figured a little pink would fade into a bit of a tan (no this doesn’t stem at all from the complex Deanna gave me when she called me pasty).

All would have been fine and dandy had I not gotten so wrapped up in fellow Naughty and Spice member, Amie Stuart’s (see side bar), book Hands On. Whoo Eee! That book was burning hot, maybe more than my skin. This is not your mamma’s erotic romance novel. So after I realized I was cooking, I came inside and saw that I was a tomato. Then I noticed I must have rubbed my arm after applying sunblock to the kid. Because in the middle of my red arm is this circle of pasty white skin. So that’ll look great with my halter dress in Dallas. *Rolling eyes*

Well I hope you all have a fabulous Fourth of July!
