Two things.

First, the Naughty and Spice girls now have a My Space page. So please Add us!

Second, my first book from Samhain Publishing is out today!!!!!! I’m obviously excited (or did you miss the multiple !) This book was a lot of fun to write, too much fun. Here’s a blurb and an excerpt below.

Angry that yet another military man has done her family wrong, Abby Cook plots sweet revenge. But when her plan goes awry, she discovers that she’s targeted the wrong military man.

Mason Tyler is not used to being disobeyed. Yet the curvy blonde has rejected his advances at every turn. When he catches her in the middle of a very destructive—not to mention illegal—prank, he offers her a deal. A deal that will keep her out of jail. And let him exact a little revenge of his own.

One weekend in his bed…no inhibitions, no refusals. But when the weekend is up, will Mason be ready to let Abby go?

EXCERPT

The bastard deserved it.

Abby Cook glanced around the dark parking lot of the apartment complex, and tightened her grip on the bottle of brake fluid.

Her cousin Kelly was too sweet—more than content to drown her heartbreak in twelve boxes of tissue. But Abby had a different definition of healing, and the lousy piece of shit was going to get what was coming to him.

Hot fury spread through her blood. Poor Kelly. What kind of man lied about being married while screwing around with a nineteen-year-old girl?

The kind who’s going to wake up to a nasty little surprise.

The whole situation was just another reason why she refused to date military men. She hadn’t been much older than Kelly when she’d gotten her own heart stomped on by one. Abby intended to make sure that this military man didn’t get off easy—nobody messed with her little cousin that badly and walked away.

Crouching low, she ran through the parking lot until she found his black Ford truck. She glanced at the street lamps and then the side of the apartment building. Hopefully there weren’t any security cameras.

She knelt beside the truck, trying in vain to pull her skirt back down over her thighs. Damn, she should’ve gone home and changed first. Brilliant idea, Abby. Go trash someone’s truck right after you get back from a night of dancing with the girls.

She pulled a towel from the pocket of her skirt and opened the bottle of brake fluid. After rolling the towel into a cylinder, she saturated the tip with the fluid from the bottle and then turned back to the truck.

“Revenge is a bitch, buddy. And so am I.”

Bringing the towel to the shiny paint on the obviously new vehicle, Abby started to write her message. After she finished, she stood and moved to the other side, dipping the towel again.

“What the hell are you doing?”

Abby’s head jerked up and she saw a man built like a linebacker running towards her. Oh crap!

She jumped to her feet, kicking over the bottle of brake fluid in the process. No time to grab the evidence, just get the hell out of here!

She ran hard, but her high heels and the thirty pounds she was trying to lose slowed her down. Her breath clogged tight in her throat and her pulse raced with fear.

She glanced back over her shoulder. Shit! He was following her. Who was he? He definitely wasn’t Kelly’s ex.

She veered to the left, crossing the street to a large empty field.

“Oh, shit,” she wheezed. “I shouldn’t have stopped doing those Tae Bo videos.”

Was he still behind her? She looked over her shoulder again. Damn! He was like six feet away! There was no way she could outrun him.

She dug her heels into the ground and spun around. “Stop! I’ve got pepper spra—ooph!”

He tackled her full out, throwing his arms around her and sending both of them flying to the grass. Lights flashed behind her closed eyes as she tried to get her breath back. He grabbed her wrists and forced them above her head as his muscular thighs straddled her ribcage.

She struggled to free herself, but he had a grip like steel. Finally, she opened her eyes and met the furious chocolate gaze of the man holding her down.

Oh, no. Not him! Her blood raced faster through her veins, but not because of the overexertion. Because of who was straddling her.

He looked just as sexy now as he had every night she’d seen him at The Lounge. Each time he’d asked her out, and each time it had just about killed her to turn him down. And the way he was looking at her now… Heat spread throughout her body, tightening her nipples and pooling moisture into her panties.

Please don’t let him recognize me. What would happen if he realized who she was? She wet her lips and swallowed hard.

He blinked and lowered his head closer to hers. His brows drew together. “Oh my God, it’s you.”

Shit!

Forced Seduction. A highly controversial topic among the romance writing community. Come share your thoughts, and see mine, on the topic. Including who I think may have started the trend ;)

Well it’s Wed. and I’m grammasitting, so what does that mean? Fortune Cookie fortune day!

Today’s Fortune: Tomorrow will be a five star day for you! Enjoy.

Hey, it could be what I’m hoping for. Well, with that fortune in combined with a chain letter (don’t laugh! LOL!) which promised an early morning phone call with good news….okay you can laugh.. I am a little. But you never know!!

So it’s been about a week and a half since I returned from Dallas. I have to say, I was going through what a lot of other writers seem to be going through. That post conference funk, tiredness. You have this great week, where you’re with your own kind. You have all this information about the industry and it’s tangible. You can sit in a bar until 2am chatting with people and not have to worry about waking up at the arse crack of dawn to feed the kid.

Reality can just be….well, a little too realistic. :) I think I’m coming out of the post-conference funk though.

One good thing, I came home and found my kid pretty much 100% potty trained. There was that small percentage before I left, where she refused to use the bathroom in public. Hey, I can’t blame her. She sat on a toilet at the mall that flushed while she was on it, and overflowed onto her butt. Needless to say she was traumatized! But she’s over it, so a big yaaay! Though she has got a nasty cold right now.

In other news, my first book with Samhain comes out next week. I’m pretty darn excited for it!

Here’s a peek.

Come visit me at Naughty and Spice where I’m discussing the one word that I cannot stand to see in a book. Then tell me yours!

Come visit Sasha White on Naughty and Spice where she’s guest blogging about ‘What do you Want’. Plus there’s an opportunity to win a copy of her book Trouble that comes out next month!!

Well I’m home! Sorry it took me awhile to post, but I’m still recovering. What a trip! It was fun, it was educational, it was political (let’s not even go there ;), but overall it was just fabulous!

I just have to say before I get to the post part, The Pirate’s Booty has gone from #3 on Fictionwise erotic to #2 in just a couple days!!! Woot! *Doing a little dance*

Back to conference wrap up.

Well, I spent a good amount of time with the Romance Divas, though sadly I must confess that I did not go to transvestite karaoke with them. I stayed in the bar and networked with authors. Basically, any of the wild crazy things the Divas did I didn’t do. Yes, I was a bit more boring this trip, but my keyword all week was network! And everyone knows the place to be is the hotel bar. I had a couple of semi wild moments, but not too bad.

I met a ton of people for the first time, though it seemed like I already knew them (many I know from writing communities and the blogosphere). I got up the courage to introduce myself to agents and editors. It was just a great, successful time!

Oh, and I’m doing the Seventy Days of Sweat (see side bar image of sexy Sven). I’m finishing a contemporary romance, and writing a novella to enter into the Brava contest. Fun, fun!

You know, let’s just put up a slide show of Dallas!

Well, I thought I’d check in and say that I’m having a fabulous time I’m having in Dallas! And tomorrow I leave…sigh. But alas, all good things must come to an end. I’m soooo eager to give my baby girl a hug too! (And her little presents I bought! Though the search for a snow globe is coming up empty.)

I had two pieces of great news yesterday!!!

The first one was my erotic sci fi romance The Captured Rose won first place in the Stroke of Midnight!

And the second one is, I got told that my book The Pirate’s Booty (my Cobblestone Press book which is a recommended read by Fallen Angels!) was #3 on the erotic section at Fictionwise!

Here’s some pics (which I also showed on the Naughty & Spice blog!) I’ll see you online when I get back!! Hugs!

Welcome to my Bon Voyage post before I put on my cowgirl hat and head to Dallas. That’s right, the big ole countdown has come to an end. At the arse crack of dawn on Monday, I shall be on a plane (God help me I hate to fly!) to Texas. My first time in the lonestar state, might I add.

I’m so utterly thrilled for this trip. I’ll get the opportunity to network, see friends, eye from afar (or introduce myself if I get up the nerve) the agents who’ve requested books from me. And, again, I must thank Cherry Adair for drawing my name, and giving me this scholarship for having this trip paid for. BIG HUGS, CHERRY!

As I’ve been saying, I get to find out how my book The Captured Rose did in the Stroke of Midnight contest. We have a fantastic Passionate Ink luncheon where they will be announcing the winners. I’m so excited to find out!

So not only do I have that to look forward to, but I also just found out today I’m up for more awards. Romance Divas is having their first annual Diva awards. You have to be nominated by your peers to win one. I was nominated for three different ones!

  1. Perseverance Diva
  2. Miss Congeniality Diva
  3. Most Inspirational Diva

I would have expected to be nominated for the ‘most likely to get abducted by aliens’ one (and yes they have it!) or something else random. But these are really sweet and very flattering awards to be nominated for. So big hugs to those who nominated me! It means a lot!

One last thing before I go. We are having a Live from the Soggy Carpet commentary all week at Naughty and Spice. Come by to hear the play by play.

I’ll some of you there, and the rest when I return! ((Hugs))

P.S. And for those who’ve been asking, no. I never got my dress!!! Can you believe it? Fortunately I ordered that backup, even though it’s more fun and less formal. Oh well. You do what you gotta.

Writing the first sex scene. What do you think is sexy? Aphrodisia author Bonnie Edwards is guest blogging at Naughty and Spice today. Come talk with Bonnie about writing that first sex scene and your thoughts on it!

So I ordered that formal dress from Ebay on the 21st of June, and I still haven’t gotten it. STILL. Usually it’s two weeks tops, and I rarely wait that long. Fortunately, I happened to see another somewhat cheap formal dress (under $35 on a clearance section of a website) and bought is just in case the Ebay dress didn’t fit or arrived too late. GOOD THING. I mean, technically I still have 3 possible mailing days to receive it, but still. Grrrr. This is cutting it close.

And now, I have to tell you how burnt I am. I really should disclaim it with: I am not one of those people who go out in the sun and bake like a tuna casserole. I’m totally pro sunblock. But today I started thinking a little color wouldn’t hurt me. So I waited until the peak hours of hottness had faded, then took the kid out to play in the wading pool. I liberally applied sunblock to her skin and then skipped it for me. I figured a little pink would fade into a bit of a tan (no this doesn’t stem at all from the complex Deanna gave me when she called me pasty).

All would have been fine and dandy had I not gotten so wrapped up in fellow Naughty and Spice member, Amie Stuart’s (see side bar), book Hands On. Whoo Eee! That book was burning hot, maybe more than my skin. This is not your mamma’s erotic romance novel. So after I realized I was cooking, I came inside and saw that I was a tomato. Then I noticed I must have rubbed my arm after applying sunblock to the kid. Because in the middle of my red arm is this circle of pasty white skin. So that’ll look great with my halter dress in Dallas. *Rolling eyes*

Well I hope you all have a fabulous Fourth of July!
