So I’m in a bit of a witchy mood today. And I kind of blame myself. For taking on two massive challenges on the same day. Restarting my diet (which got blown during birthday month) and doing potty training full throttle–no pull ups, all day. I did this the same day. Sooo not smart.

I can not tell you how many pairs of big girl underwear we went through today, but it was a lot. We had more accidents than successes. But some were good, really good. Like at one point, she sat on the big potty instead of the her little potty chair. Granted it was a bit of hysterics getting her on it, but once there she liked it. Anyway, we made it halfway through the day. Okay, I promise no more potty training chat for now.

So last night was a girls night out that we’d had planned for awhile. We had a lot of March birthdays in my group of friends, so we spent a couple hours at Claim Jumper and ate/drank too much, and had some lively discussion. After, we went and saw a movie. I totally got outvoted and ended up watching Blades of Glory, when I was begging for Shooter (more so I wanted 300, but we’d JUST missed it!) Anyway, Blades of Glory…it had a few funny moments, but let’s just say that it’s two hours of my life I’ll never get back.

And onto the best news. I sold my single title book (the very first one I’d ever written, that I spent last week rewriting) to Cobblestone Press, and it should be coming out in June. Here’s a peek at….

Ain’t Misbehavin

On a pre-wedding vacation to Europe with her friend, Lena learns her fiancé is cheating on her. Deciding she needs to have some fun herself, she indulges in the sexy New Yorker whose been trying to get into her pants. But will she lose her heart in the process?

Business brings Tyler to Amsterdam, but a petite bombshell on vacation is what convinces him to stay. Each day brings them closer, and he begins to think she could be the one to curb his bachelor ways. Until he realizes that he’s just the pawn in a game of revenge.

All right, off to watch Bambi (Grrr, I HATE that movie) with the kid. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

My pic of the day….I’m debating what’s harder. Toilet training a toddler or an elephant. I’m beginning to wonder. *Grin*

OMG. That picture reminds me of when I had the flu last month.

At least your kid doesn’t go poop in the garage like mine has recently started doing.

    Good luck with that.

    Aaack! That picture!! OMG! :)

And your book sounds fab. Can’t wait!!!!

Yep. . . I have a 31/2 & a 21/2 year old. . . both boys. The oldest is pee trained, but may never be poop-trained. Why? He poops at nap! I’ve tried sitting him on the potty through nap. . . no deal. He’ll just hold it until night time when he gets his goodnights! Argh. Granted, he’s a bit developmentally delayed (speech and some gross motor), but some days I despair and figure I’ll be changing him in college!

I’m waiting until May and nice warm weather to start potty-training the little one. He actually will go on the potty on command and Lurves it! But he can’t be trusted in the bathroom by himself (insert sounds of manical laughter, flushing toilet, and mysteriously disappearing toothbrushes!)

Oh, and congrats on the book sale!

Oh gosh, potty training. That scared the crap out of me. No pun intended. ;) But honestly, it’s one of the scariest things to have to tackle, but I found pull-ups were a great system, while still learning the ropes.

CONGRATS on the book sale too! That’s awesome. :D CP ROCKS!!

Huge congratulations on the sale!! See, all your hard work paid off, as I’m sure it will with the potty thing, too. I admire how productive you are with everything you have going on!

    Congrats on the sale!!! yeay!

Evil potty training! I’m convinced my son is NEVER GOING TO GO TO THE POTTY!!! He turns three in May, and I know that’s young for a boy, but it’s so frustrating. He knows when he’s going to go and runs and hides in his closet. I tried putting the potty in there, lol, but it didn’t work.

Argh. going to tackle it full on this May, after the weather gets warm and I can let him run around bar bottomed.

I’m so glad The Man was home with The Boy during potty training. We used bribes. He got an M&M peanut every time he pooped and a Skittle for peeing.

He’s been out of pullups since he was 2.5 (he’s 4 now) and only has accidents once a month. Too bad the last one was in his car seat. Who the hell makes a car seat with a non-removable cover??

Congrats on the new book sale!

What??? Blades of Glory has to be good. I have an inner fourteen year old that is begging to be let out to see it!!!

    Congrats on the sale!

Toilet training is NOT something I miss. lol My oldest was 3 and then some by the time he finally got around to it. My younger was, barely 2. Sheesh. Good luck Shelli and congrats on your sale!!

I don’t know what it is, but I have a TOTAL mental block about Will Farrell. I don’t want to see any movie he’s in.

My boy was the hardest to train. My youngest girl trained herself before she was two because she had to do EVERYTHING her sister did. Yay!

Good luck, Shelli, and congrats on the book!

    Yay! Congratulations!
