Today I’m going to mention the stupidiest initiative out there that’s trying to be passed. And, gag, it’s in my state. Here is the gist of it…

I know this pic is just crazy, but I can’t stop laughing at it.

So I had a great night planned. I was going to write 10 pages on my sci fi and watch Little Miss Sunshine. But then I got accosted by Crystal, Loribelle, and Emma. Like literally, they held me hostage on the phone for five hours. Five hours. Who stays on the phone for five hours? I swear, these women go wild for free weekend minutes. It started right before my kid fell to sleep, and they kept me on the phone even when I would try to hang up. They would call me back. It was like that show The Ring. But instead of saying seven days, they just kept yelling six months! Yes. We spent way too much time discussing Nationals…among other things I probably ought not discuss. *Grin*
Today we had our chapter meeting and that was fantastic. Gerri Russell (See her book in the ‘What i’m reading’ in my side bar!) gave a great talk on publishing and publishing again. Seriously, I learned a ton and cannot wait to sell to New York and put all her great advice to use. And then we had a great board meeting and set some great goals for the year. I’m going to attend the Presidents retreat at Nationals too.
Oh, and I’m terrified, I just learned I may be flying to Dallas alone. Lacy Danes won’t be able to fly out on the same flight as I planned to. So wish me luck, because I’m terrified to fly. But I’m going to have a wonderful, wonderful week. Thanks in great part to the most generous woman I know, Cherry Adair. I can’t wait to meet people, attend workshops, pitch to editors and agents, and get dressed up. Sigh. How many months are we out?
Well, I should probably go, because I’m still on the phone with my freaks–I mean friends. This is what my ear looks like now by the way.

Okay, nice serious topics for the next few paragraphs. This morning I was watching CNN and am pretty happy all question marks have been removed on whether global warming exists. Especially since our administration has been trying to play it down. Here’s part of the article…
Officially releasing a 21-page report in Paris on the hows and the what of global warming — though not telling the world what to do about it — the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change gave a bleak observation of what is happening now and an even more dire prediction for the future. Read the rest here.
And then, my heart goes out to Florida after that horrific tornado (global warming?) swept through in the middle of the night, taking too many lives. I’m praying for you guys over there.
All right! Off the heavy stuff. I’ve got my laptop back. I’m so stinking happy. Like me and laptop skipping through the roads, holding hands, singing That’s What Friends Are For happy.
I wrote the article on epublishing for my local chapter’s newsletter. I think it turned out okay, though there’s a reason I never went into journalism. Unless I’m making things up, I have a hard time writing reality. LOL.
Now I want to share with you the new releases at Cobblestone Press this week. I’ve been kind of bad about posting them in here.
Billy knows all about Chloe’s tragic—and wrong—first mating. With only two short days to convince her they belong together, or risk her running again, what lengths will he go to? Chloe can’t deny the attraction between them, or that she has always wanted Billy. But does she dare risk her battered heart and trust again?

At her best friend’s wedding, a falling tree strikes Merryn Porter. She wakes to see Luke Hanson, the bride’s brother and love of her life who rejected her. After ten years apart, passion rekindles and 24 hours together aren’t nearly enough. Can they pay Fate’s price for a life together?
Jana’s given up on having a loving family of her own. Besides, what man would want a disfigured woman? Dan’s dreams of owning his own spread keep him going when all seems hopeless. Then Jana enters his life, offering him one night of shared comfort. But his heart demands forever.
