So I apologize for my period of absence. Unfortunately Emma got sick and then I got sick. Sigh. And I’m still a sick little monkey. Though, I think the chills are going away. Just the really yucky cold part remaining. I’m seriously bummed, because I’m missing a dinner at The Melting Pot with Lauren Dane and Kelly Maher. But it would just be wrong when I’m contagious to be dunking my meat into the same pot of oil. Oooooh my, that sounded a wee bit dirty. *Grin*
But during the past few house-ridden days, I have been doing some writing. Though not as much because I was sleeping more. My sci fi book is coming along fantabulously! Though Emma Peterson is ready to hop a plane to Seattle and beat my arse because of the standard self doubts that have kicked in. Anyway, what originally started off as a short story, possibly novella, has become a larger goal. I’m going to shoot for around 50k on this book. A mid point between short story and single title. I’m already going back and figuring out a subplot and extra scenes.
So, I got another review on Tourist Attraction. Thank you Kristi for the wonderful review! Here’s a part of it…

I love anything Ms. Steven’s writes. All of her stories come fully loaded with entertaining storylines, engaging characters, and plenty of romance. This effort is no different. Melanie is a character just about any reader can relate to and we should all be so lucky to find a guy like Brian. There is plenty of sensual moments and reading Melanie and Brian’s romance was a wonderful way to escape for a short period of time. My only complaint…the story is a short one so we had to say goodbye sooner to these characters. If you are looking for a steamy romantic romp…look no further then “Tourist Attraction.”

I’m having computer issues again, my monitor flops shut…it’s become a limp-lid. The hinges are broken. So I’m going to have to send it back, and be without my laptop or a week or two. *Bawling* My time on the internet will be cut down 1/4 of the time, reduced to a desktop banished to the corner of the house. It’ll be hard to get my 1k in a day, but I’m sure as heck gonna try.
And so that’s about as much excitement as you’re getting from me today. If you consider that excitement by some chance.

Sorry to hear you’re still not 100%, Shelli! But great that this story of yours is evolving. Very cool!
Congrats on the review, too!
Take it easy and don’t be too hard on yourself.
Feel better, chickie. Great review!
Get well! I’m home sick too–and there’s always paper *G*
I had that evil crud two weeks ago. I know how bad it is. Rest and get better, there’ll always be other dinners (although we’ll miss you!)
Congrats on the review. Hope you’re feeling better soon!
Ugh, I hate being sick! I was sick most of last week and all weekend. I sucked.
