So I’m loving this work out thing. I joined Gold’s gym with my friend Patrica. We’re going at least 5 times a week at the butt crack of dawn. Wait, technically dawn has not yet even cracked when we hit the machines. And it’s great. I’m so sore, like can’t-turn-my-steering wheel or get out of a chair sore.

And I’ve been a vegetarian for two whole weeks now! I love it, though I still get occasional CHICKEN!!! cravings.

So life has been good. Well, except for that random comment some guy left on my blog (it’s deleted now, sorry) quoting scripture and basically telling me I’m going to hell because of what I write. Ooook. You know what I did? Prayed for the strength to not go post on his blog what a naive, judgemental fool he is.

Anyway… I’ve been blog surfing a lot, and having fun seeing who makes goals and who doesn’t! I think a lot of writers found success in 2006. And I’m guessing 07 will be even better.

Okay, sorry it’s a short one tonight. I’m tired, sore, and trying to finish another V day book by Friday.

Way to go on the gym, Shelli! And good luck on the V-day book. I can’t wait to read it. :)

Congrats! Since I’ve moved out I have to walk Eli (my dog) instead of just letting him out in the yard, even that makes a difference! It’s so nice to just get out and stretch your legs!!! Keep up the good work!!!

    With Love,
    Tara M.

Keep it up on the working out! I had grand plans to take a walk with the kiddies today but woke up to rain and general gloom and doom. Bummer.

So I’m going to clean instead. Blech.

Good for you on the gym thing. Working out is torture enough, but to do it at the crack of dawn you have to be a special kind of crazy. ;)

Kudos on dealing with uppity comments. I would not have had the personal will power not to verbally spank somebody like that.

That’s terrific, that you’ve started the year off with the gym. Good luck with it. From my personal experience - I lift weights with the hubby at home - working out really does help. Between that, yoga and changing my eating habits, it’s made a HUGE difference. In the last 18 months or so I’ve lost about 17 kilos. Not sure how much that is in pounds. :)

Hope you get through the writing of your book this week too.

I can’t believe someone bothered to leave you a pathetic comment like that! What the hell’s wrong with the guy anyway? I got that kinda thing on the train one time. I was reading Cliver Barker’s THE DAMNATION GAME and some (drunk) man started having a go at me for reading the ‘devil’s work’. He said I should be reading the bible on the train!!!

    Go figure.

    Anyway, have a GREAT day.

WTG on the workouts! I need to get moving. Seriously.

Too funny about the blog comment!

congrats on the working out thing. I’ve signed up for Yoga, but beyond that 2007 is actually finding me physically lazier than 06. I keep making crazy-ass writing-deadlines for myself though…and others too :)

I have a few really good vegetarian recipes. (I was one for a year and a half…then got pregnant with my middle son and nearly wrestled hubby to the ground for a raw porkchop. I also worked with a vegetarian chef at a restaurant at the time, so he made me fab foods to support the cause.) I’ll see if I can find them and post them over at my blog next week…there was a great one for tofu-taco-salad…

I signed up at a Gold’s gym here, but it was all guys and smelled funny. They didn’t last long.

You’re lucky. It’s my family who thinks I’m going straight to hell. :)Which I wouldn’t mind if any of them had actually ever read anything I ever wrote, but anyway.

I had a similar experience recently on this other site I’m on. I had posted something very personal and this guy saw fit to attack the way I saw selfish. He called me a bitch and I’ve never even met the man.

So anyway, the good part of the story, was I was overwhelmed with other users on this site jumping to my defense. I got personal e-mails supporting me, several people posted on their own journals and a bunch posted comments directly to my blog. It was so lovely to feel so cherrished, I can’t even begin to tell you. :)

And super cool on the exercise Shelli. :)Keep it up.

Keep up with the working out Shelli. I’m on the weight loss kick too. I’ve lost 12 pounds so far. I haven’t joined a gym yet…just walking. The gym I’m going to join has an indoor pool…so, I’m going to wait until March and join and let my little ones take swimming lessons as well.

Didn’t see post about the random comment… sorry to hear about the irritation.

Congrats on a great start to your goals. I’m basically gone 8-8 each day so gym time would really be difficult to fit in, and write, and eat and do laundry. So I wimp out. But, I have an hour lunch at work and most days I just stay at work because it’s so far from town. I keep telling myself to go walking. My goal would be to walk a half-hour during lunch each day.

I love you when you say butt crack of dawn.
