Well, if you’re a news buff (like me!) You may have seen on the news that the Pacific Northwest (Seattle and all around!) is getting SLAMMED with a snowstorm. We are all snowbound. The schools are closed, the free ways a parking lot. Literally: the other night my uncle was coming home from work at 5pm, and didn’t get home until 1:15am. It’s usually an hour or so drive. The Seahawks kicked butt in their snow during their Monday Night Football game, one of my brother’s who was there and couldn’t get home afterwards. There’s like an inch thick of ice on the roads. It’s crazy out there. And I love it.
Yup, that’s right. I’m in hee haw heaven. We do not get snow. Maybe one token snowfall a year that melts by morning. But we’re going on day three of me opening my curtains in the am and seeing crusty (it’s iced over now) white snow everywhere. Emma and I have been sledding and building snowmen. Now I don’t have a 9-5 job in downtown, which I’m sure would make this hell, so I’m good to go. Granted I do grammasit twice a week, and I had to cancel. Plus I was going to get a manicure with Jacquie (to make our nails pretty before the book signing) and we postponed that too. But I don’t know, we’re due for another snow storm tonight. Yay!
So I officially gave up on NaNo. Actually it was about a week ago. I hadn’t planned on giving up, but I got a revise and resub letter from a non-Cobblestone Press publisher. So I focused my energy on that and sent it off. I suppose I could have started back up, but it was the holidays and I wanted a break. So I leave NaNo with 30k, but I’m cool with that. I’m thinking I’ll start back up again tonight with the NaNo book, because I really want to get it finished and subbed to NY. :)
I did have a creative streak the other day. I made soap. After paying $6.25 for a ducky soap at Bath and Bodyworks, I realized I could make the same darn thing myself. Not bad, eh?
Ok, I’m off to take a nap. The snow and sledding has done me in. *Yawn.* My funny pic of the day is just a pic, I promise that is not my own creation. Man, some people are just total perves *Rolling eyes* Have a good one!

ROFL, Shelli! I almost used a photo of a snow-couple doing it on the hood of a car! :D
Aren’t snowstorms great? We got snowed in for a couple of days last March — with my three nieces and nephews, six kids total — and weren’t at all prepared. It was a real scrounge-fest when mealtimes rolled around. Thank God we had toilet paper, though.
That picture is worth a thousand words and million dirty thoughts! LMAO!! I feel your uncle’s pain as it took my 5.5 hours to get home from Bothell and it took my dad 6 hours to get home from downtown Seattle..all I can say that I love my car, especially since i spent so much time in it! Love the pic of Emma in the snow…she looks adorable!
Awww look at her little mittens!
I’m waiting for snow.. we had frost before Halloween so I’m surprised no snow yet.
Last year the only real snow hit on the day I moved. Snow up to my WAIST.
Yeah, I’m short, but so what, lol.
Enjoy that snow!
Cute kitty!! And, dammit send the snow my way!!!! URGH!
With Love,
Tara M.
That’s a lot of snow! Feel free to keep it all season.
Holy snow, Batman. I am not a fan of the white stuff so I guess it’s lucky that I live in the desert.
Wow, what a snowfall. Hope you and Emma have a fun time in it. Love the pic by the way. LOL
Best of luck on that new submission.
OMG!!! That piture!!
Good luck with the resub. I got to watch most of the Seahawks/Packers game Monday night. As it was snowing, I wondered if you’d like it or not.
Looks like you’ve had a blast with it.
Love ya’
Sounds like you’re having lots of fun. Emma looks very cute. Good luck with the resub. 30,000 words is nothing to sneeze at.
LOL – about the picture.
She is so precious!
Good luck with the resub. You can do it!
OMG that picture!
Emma looks like she’s having a blast. My friend’s parents live in Seattle and it took her dad 7 hours to get home from work. Normally an hour drive. It sounds like it’s nuts in your neck of the woods.
Love your soap!
Crazy pic!!
I can’t do snow. I hate being cold.
