So I kind of broke down last night. Well, writing wise that is. Like I said, the book I’m doing for NaNo is one I started a couple years ago. I only got 30 pages in, and I’m sure a lot of it needs to be trashed. So basically I’m keeping the idea and starting fresh. Anyway, last night I started reading what I had written before and realized that yeah, it’s a great premise, but needs to be rewritten.
Sooo… yes, maybe it’s cheating a little, but I decided just to rewrite the opening paragraph. And I did, and it sucked. So technically I still have nothing. I think I’m getting a little rattled, because I know this book is being written especially to be subbed to NY. It needs to be absolutely the best book I’ve written yet. The opening scene has to hook an editor/agent from the first sentence or I’m screwed. I can’t wait until page three to hit my stride. So yeah, I’m obsessing a bit. I know there’s that whole go back and fix it later bit, but I tend to need that great opening line to build the rest of the book.
All right, no more writing talk. I moved rooms yesterday. I moved upstairs, and boy did I get a workout! Anyway, I’m in a smaller room, but I kind of like it. It’s cozier, and there’s less spiders. And now Emma and I are closer to the bathroom. We woke up, and I dragged her to her potty chair where she did a very nice fill up in it! YAY! She got a Little Mermaid sticker today. We’ve upgraded from My Little Pony stickers. Thanks everyone for listening to my potty training stories, and giving me lots of great stories and comments!
On a healthy note, I’m going to sign up for Curves again today. Yup more money I shouldn’t be spending, but my jeans are tight and my fat rolls are multiplying by the hour.
Okay here’s the Halloween, freaky pic of the day. Don’t even ask me what it is :)

Eeek whatever that is, it’s creepy as Hell. Just remember when you start that first draft… ‘The first draft of anything is shit.’ Hemingway said it not me. I write it on the top of each day of my planner…Just write, revisions will bring the perfection.
Kim
Where do you find these pics?
As for the book, don’t worry about it! Just write it and you can go back and fix the first part later!
Why does your Halloween pick look like my six grade teacher? Hmm..Anywho! I’m going to join Curves too! Woot! We can be Curves buddies! Too bad you don’t live closer, then we could go together! And the Feistiest one is right, just write, and worry later! You have massive talent and you get better with every book! Remember out pact! ST Sisters! Woot!
I know it is so hard to keep from writing. But nano is loads of fun, just write and if you make the 50k cool- if you don’t well there is always next month.
OH wow! Totally cool for you with Emma. My girl hates the potty - so I’m bribing her with small stickers. If she wees she gets a nice big one.
Okay that pic is both fascinating and disgusting. I don’t know what the hell it is either.
Yay on the potty training! Sounds like you’re making progress. I’m still working on the stay in your beds thing - it’s tough, lemme tell ya.
And don’t worry about Nano. This book will be great! I have faith! And you have lots of Nano friends who will support you. :)
My 2 year old loves to sit on the potty but hasn’t done anything in it yet. But I’ve done this twice before so I’m trying to pretend I couldn’t possibly care less if she does it because her brothers saw how much I wanted them out of diapers and clung to them all the more. Darned stubborn kids.
I’m glad Emma is doing so well!
Ok, that picture is freaky! Definitely good for halloween, but scary. I hope I don’t keep it in mind when I go to bed tonight. :)
Yeah that pic is VERY ugly! Looks like my ex-hubby…hehehe…Oh the stories I could write involving him and a train mishap…evil I know!
Writing will come to you, maybe you need to get the bad stuff out so you can actually get the good stuff down.
With Love,
Tara M.
Someone once told me you have to give yourself permission to write crap, and everything else will follow. (I know. I wonder what he was smoking, too.)
Maybe you just have to let yourself hit your stride on page three, and then go back and start there, instead.
I plan on doing NaNo and I’m cheating a little bit too. Don’t feel bad.
That is so nice of you to give up your room for your brother. What a dear you are. So selfless.
