Man, I love my online blogging family. I went away for a few days and came home to a bunch of sweet comments! And my cold is gone!
So yeah, Happy Memorial day everyone! What did everyone do over the weekend? I went up to Whidbey and spent the weekend at the cabin. It was really nice. Things are still busy with the ECWC. In fact, this is the first year we maxed out on registrations, and we’re actually having to turn people away. I feel pretty bad about that, but we try and keep it a small conference–200 max–and I know we even went over that a bit.
So yeah I spent my weekend going for long walks, garage saling, thrift shop diving, and taking Emma to the park. Emma met a friend at the park, a girl a little older than her, and she had this totally hot dad. Now, I checked for a ring (habit) and he wasn’t wearing one, but I’m sure he wasn’t single. No guy is that hot and single. Possibly military, clean cut, fit and he spoke to me. So that was guy #1 that I lusted after. Guy #2 was a bit out of left field and the attraction came slower. Not really sure how I feel about it today. I met him at at a small store on the Island. He was doing the cash register. Nice eyes, long reddish hair, and tattoos all over his body. Usually, I’m not into the biker/bad boy look, but he was kinda flirty and I got a little bit of butterflies.
It really makes me wonder at how I can go from two ends of the spectrum, clean cut to biker boy. Ah well, I don’t act on anything, just blog about them. :)
I finished my first shifter! Woo whoo! It ended up like 4k longer than I expected, but it needed to be. It’s off with the critique group as we speak (I’m leaning heavily on them for this one since it’s my first shifter!)
I’m so sad to hear about the Crocodile Hunter’s death. Did you guys see that? I can’t stop thinking about it. Did you hear about that? Click here for article
Okay, I’ll be sure and blog hop tonight and see what you’ve all been up to! And then tomorrow… sniffle… I have to send my laptop off in a big box back to HP. The monitor is having big meltdown issues. So I’ll be without my computer for a week or two. Internet time will be brief again. *Sigh*
Anyway, have a great BBQ tonight if that’s what you’re up to.

I do a lot of garage saling. As I grew up, I had a lot of my school clothes from garage sales. The 70s recession kept my dad out of work and I recall him selling scrap copper and aluminum to make ends meet. My mother got most of my clothes for school at yard sales. I still shop at them for my boys when things get tight. Sometimes I find jeans for a buck and they’ll have a $30 tag still attached to them!
So glad to hear you’re feeling better! I’m not going to blog hop much tonight. We went to a water park for a company picnic – my husband’s (and my former) work has one every year. We had a blast! I’m sunburned! My children had the time of their lives! But I’m sooo exhausted….
Sorry about the computer problems. :( And yes I’m very sad about Steve Irwin. So awful.
I knew the positive vibes would get you better soon!! Sounds like you had an awesome weekend and I’m jealous! LOL…
Girl, all I can say is that you’re underestimating yourself! You’re a fox and Guy #1 wasn’t blind to it,neither was Guy #2…however Guy #2 stepped to the plate while Guy #1 didn’t! I’m sure that he’s kickin himself now!
Sorry to hear bout the computer…I went through that in May and was without a computer for 2 days shy of a month..it sucked! We’ve got each others numbers so we can still catch up…I’ll be callin one of the days this week!
Shelli, seriously. You have nothing to worry about. I just finished reading Dating Season (haha I got to read it and you guys didnt! :P) and I loved it.
And that picture is hilarious! Where do you find this stuff?
Sorry about the computer, I know that is totally gonna suck. I would go through some major withdrawls!
I’m so glad your feeling better and big congrats on finishing your shifter!!
Bummed about the computer. I’d go crazy.
That photo is hilarious!
I had my sister’s wedding this weekend, so that was mostly what I did. Then yesterday I spent at the ER with my Mom because she thought it a good idea to try and put a knife thru her hand…sheesh…
LOLOL at the picture. I’ll call hubby over after I write this. He’ll get a kick out of it.
So glad you are feeling better although that sucks about your computer.
LMAO @ pic. Glad you’re feeling better!
:o)
I was so sad about Steve Irwin’s death. :(
Good luck on the shifter! I’m sure it was great.
I’m 8 pages from typing THE END on my YA and then it’s off to my CPs for major shredding. I can’t believe I added 53 pages this weekend!
Glad to hear the cold is gone!
Definately sad about Steve Irwin’s death. He was such a great person to watch and learn from. He’s going to be deeply missed!
That picture is just to funny…OMG…
