So I didn’t blog last night. My body was achy, my head felt thick, so I went to bed early. And woke up with a raging a cold and sore throat. So how much does that suck? Ugh. And now I’m putting in a gross little smiley to emphasize it’s suckage.

Big Sneeze

Emma is still in smother mommy mode. She hasn’t let me go since I got back. Wait that’s not true. She ditched me to go hang out with her cousins for a couple of days. Which was wonderful, because I really needed a couple of days to recover from Nationals.

I forgot to mention the other day that I had lunch with my editor Leanne. She was passing through Seattle on a road trip. So we got to hang out. She’s a sweetie and has some great news of her own. But she’ll share that on her own time.

Anyone have any big plans this weekend? I may go to a friend’s BBQ if I feel better. Won’t stay long since I’ll have a toddler in tow. But other than that, nadda. Just gonna relax and hang with Emma.

Sooo here’s the Friday releases at Cobblestone Press. Makes someone’s day and pick up a new release. But first, my pic of the day is going to be cute. Because when you’re sick you need sweet, cute things. This pic makes my daughter laugh. So show it to your kids for a good time.

Yay I got my Halloween cover! So excited :) And here it is. And, please, no cracks on how she looks like Cher! This is part of the Vegas Magic series I’m writing with Loribelle Hunt and Sara Dennis. So I put an excerpt up on my website from This Spells Trouble. If you get bored you should go check it out. I’m kinda proud of this book, it was my first vampire paranormally thing. Excerpt

And I’m not the only one who got their cover today. Since my fabulous friend Lacy Danes always pimps me, let me do her. *giggle* She got her cover and her blurb for her anthology What She Craves, coming out with Kensington Aphrodesia next year! And here it is!

WHAT SHE CRAVES Lacy Danes

In first time author Lacy Danes’ sizzling erotic stories, adventurous women are willing to do anything, risk everything, and break all therules for a taste of sensual bliss…

A beautiful courtesan skilled at pleasing others finds a man who can satisfy her hidden desires… At the season’s most decadent orgy, a prim widow learns how to give—and receive—the ultimate pleasure… In a mysterious erotic ritual in a small English village,a young woman is chosen by a wickedly seductive green-eyed male to be his mate—and his queen…

So I’m back from Atlanta and I’m kinda in limbo mode. I want to write new stuff, but also want to figure out what to do with the unsold novels I’ve got. So I’ve gone back to one of my unsold books and started rewritting the ending. Because I wrote this book a year ago, and I’ve come so far since then! I mean, a year ago my characters were bi-polar, and the males were totally dramatic alphas. Man, I wrote an ending straight out of a 1980’s Sandra Brown novel. And I’m a bit embarrassed to admit I like it, but I have a feeling it won’t fly with NY. It’s that whole dramatic revenge plot. Yummy. But gotta be toned down. Anyone else notice how much your writing changes in a year? I think you should grow though, because that means you’re getting better and learning. You gotta develop that talent.

So Lauren Dane tagged me while I was in Atlanta. So here I go…
When did you start blogging and why? I started blogging in Feb 2006. I started because Loribelle asked me why the hell I didn’t have a blog. Because apparently everybody had a blog, and why didn’t I? She guided me through setting one up, and I was forever hooked.

What don’t you talk about? I don’t really talk about bad reviews I get. Or bad mouth the reviewer. That’s just completely unprofessional as an author. You suck it up and deal with it. Bad reviews happen. It’s part of life. There’ll always be someone who doesn’t like your book.
Are you and your blogging persona the same person? Totally, 100% completely. Okay…well sometimes I exaggerate a bit. But really, this is who I am. Kinda scary, huh?
How do you use blogging to build friendships? I’ve used blogging to find other writers on blogger. I’m amazed at the wonderful people I’ve met who come visit me, and who I try to visit when blogger isn’t acting like the devil.
How would you describe your writing style? Oh man. Hmm. Real. Down to earth. Honest. Funny. Blunt.

Now that you know all the dirty details on my blogging history (gasp) I got some more great news today. In fact this post is full of good news, so stop reading now if you think you’ll get bored.

First, apparently Rose Hilliard at St. Martin’s wants to see a partial manuscript for my book that won the contest! And I don’t think she was one of the judges. But I’m really thrilled, because St. Martin’s was one of the places I was considering sending to. I’d love to break in there. They always have lighter stories, and mine is super hot, but has that contemporary light edge. Second, I made the Best Seller list again this month at Cobblestone Press. I came in at #5 with my book The Pirate’s Booty, which has only been on sale 2 weeks!

Okay since I suck at hiding good news, I’ll give a hint to yesterday’s. I got contacted by an agent who wanted me to send a partial of my book that won the contest. So I sent that off today. I won’t say who, because then it gets all sad and personal if I get rejected.

But so much great news lately! I just am crossing my fingers that some pan out. And I know great news is going around. You should check out Sara Dennis blog. I hope she posted her good news. Because it’s definitely squeal worthy.

On another note, I have started a photo blog from Nationals. I’ll keep adding to it each day http://www.shellistevensphotos.blogspot.com/

Okay, back to my wacky pics of the day…. Did anyone see this in the news a couple weeks ago? It actually made me teary eyed. It’s a cat that was born with two faces.
