Okay, so I guess you all are pansies and have quesy stomachs when it comes to pictures of dead people. FINE! I promise I won’t be so, ahem, gruesome today. I downloaded a bunch of pics, and boy are we going to have fun in the coming days! But today’s will be sickeningly sweet to make up for yesterday.
Let’s see. What did I do today? Holy heck, I read three short stories. Breaking in Levi, Office Relations, and A Thin Line. They’re all books I bought from Cobblestone Press and haven’t had time to read. Well, I read them! And I really enjoyed them. I have to say, I don’t have much down time so novellas and short stories are my fave right now. That’s probably why I’m so fond of writing them too :)
I’ll keep ths blog post short (or is it too late?) Because I’d also like to promo the three books that came out at CP today. First, my sickeningly sweet picture of the day to make up for the mummy from yesterday…

Did you go “Ah” instead of “Puke”??? Good. Now I promo for my friends!

Sam Loyd is a lonely writer looking for a no strings attached affair while vacationing in Aruba. Melodie Waters is an up and coming hotel executive looking for a little fun in the sun before she starts a new job. What happens when these two meet?
Sam and Melodie are drawn together by sex, but the more time these two spend together, they realize there’s more between them than attraction. Jonah wanted nothing but quiet and solitude to work on his latest book. He certainly had no plans to rescue a beautiful damsel in distress. But when Katherine wrecks her car outside his cabin, he finds playing the knight-in-shining-armor may get him more than he bargained for.
Katherine longs for a man who can set her blood on fire. She wonders if such a man exists…until she finds herself stranded in a remote cabin with the man of her romance-novel dreams.
What happens when a steamy, no-strings affair becomes the love of your life?

Dimitri, Russian pimp premiere and third prince of the Conglacio, has been watching a beautiful white blonde working girl in his territory from afar for a long time. He’s set up a liaison with her, under false pretenses, to make her an offer she won’t be able to resist.
Will she bargain her soul for everything she’s ever wanted or will she stay in the hell she’s created for herself?

I’m reading snowbound now and ugh!!! it’s wonderful.
Love the pic by the way. ;) LOL. too cute. and hey, I wasn’t grossed out by the dead guy. I was inspired as a matter of fact.
mwah ha ha ha ha!!!
I’ve just read Tourist Attraction and loved it. I tend to read a lot of anthologies these days. The worst part about writing is the way it cuts into reading time. That’s a cute photo :)
I want my money back!
Yesterday, sure you had a bunch of whiney asses who couldn’t handle what you put up. And yeah, I finished off a bottle of something green and antiseptic-tasting to steady my nerves.
BUT
you got people reacting at the visceral level. You had people thinking AND feeling.
You got an A (even if I did reccomend 6 shots for steadiness, it was an A. A one-shot toast from our rating scale) from me, AND a one-shot toast from LitWit. Do you KNOW how rare that is?
*shaking head* Today, dear darlin’, you get the dreaded six-shot F. Pukey little kittens.
Nice of you to pimp your friends, though. Nice lookin’ covers. Yada yada.
*wipes a tear from her eye* That’s so…….annoying. Just no pleasing us, is there? Keep putting up the pictures though Shelli, we love to give you our “humble opinion”.
You read all three of those? Which one did you like best? (muhahahahahahaw evil laugh)
I liked the pic of the mummy guy and I like the pic of the sweet kitties. I like dead guys and cats. I guess I’m a freak! :)
And yes such good promo for your friends. I need to buy more Cobblestone books…
I must be a freak. I love the mummy dude, Shelli. Totally inspiring.
heh. On an unrelated note, I love your new pic, too. It shows you off better than your avatar at RD.
I’m loving novellas right now too. Mostly because I’m behind on my RD reviews, and I have two books out from my library that are overdue and…the list goes on.
As it is, I’d better get back to reading so I can still do some writing today *sigh*
I’m definately an ahhhhhhh on that picture.
Oh I love the fact that the ladies of literary sass are visiting me. I feel like I’m on American Idol or something :)
And then of course I love all my usual suspects too!
