Thanks to everyone for the supportive comments about my rejection. Seriously, I love her, I’d love to have her as an agent, but it’s just not meant to be. For now. (Hee hee) I’ll probably try again some day.
Okay, the beer stein of money. Yeah it was awesome! And shopping yesterday was fabulous. First off, I was Emma-free, right? So I’m supposed to meet Mia at 9:30. I overslept. Like till 9:10!! I only woke because Mia called me saying she was early. OMG having a morning without a child is wonderful. Seeing as I’m usually up between 6-8.
So I rush off to meet her, all barely dressed and so not attractive, plus wearing glasses because allergies are killing my eyes! Needless to say I looked like butt. And Mia is gorgeous in black sweat pants, a tiny white top that ties at her tiny waist, driving her white Corvette. She’s got blond hair down to her butt. She’s a genuine hottie. Men drool. But it was great. We went inside and did the rounds at Nordstrom, all the beauty employees know and love her, and so I’m kind of special by association. Woo whoo! It’s great. I got a bag of free samples!
Okay, onto what I bought. I bought my first pair of Spanx to suck in all my fat under my formal dress at Nationals! And I got a dark pink/red lipstick that they promised me was trendy (cause I can’t tell a trend if it hits me in the face) and will look great for the formal night. And I got a sparkly butterly necklace that cost way too much to go with the dress. Basically I took care of formal night. But dang it, I couldn’t find shoes. I finally ordered some on www.zappos.com. Love them! I bought a pair of heels for $39.99 that was marked down from $204! But I also bought a pair of Steve Madden’s for $50 that I might wear instead. Currently undecided.
My other dilemma? Khaki dress pants to wear at Nationals. Man, who knew it would’ve been such a difficult task to find? Apparently only those gaznachos pants, or however you say it, are available. And capris. I’m screwed, screwed I tell ya! Until the internet saves my butt again. Old Navy online is fabulous. Does anyone else shop online? Hit the sale button and go nutty? I’m a pro. Pro at sale shopping!
Then after 6 hours of shopping, I come home, check email for a few minutes, and then go out with Lacy Danes for dinner. But instead we end up at the mall again, and I got a cute little purse for Nationals. Yes this was my shopping day for the Nationals trip. And I really appreciate the fact (if you even made it this far) that you read my whole blog post! Hee hee. Cause it can’t have been that interesting. I got home and passed out. Well… after some internet shopping for the shoes of course. When I shop, I shop.
And Emma will be home soon, so I should go eat some breakfast.

WoooHooo! Can you shop or what, Chica! I’ll have you know I read the whole post and I enjoyed it. So there.
I shop online a lot. I remember I had to find canvas sandals because I’m allergic to that faux leather they make everything out of and I won’t wear plastic. I found them on Ebay….finally. Only $9.99! Sweeeeet!
It sounds like you have it together for Nationals. Now, have you worked on your pitches? LOL.
I, too, have a friend that every man drools over. *Sigh*. Sometimes it’s fun though.
LOL Shelli…sounds like you had a busy but fun time. And I hope you have a great time at Nationals!
Oh, I wish I could shop online. But I have to try everything on. Twice. Such a pain. Glad you had a good shopping trip!
Oh, it sounds like you had a blast! I just lived through your experience. :)
I LOVE to shop online. I love Old Navy’s site - I shop for me and the kids and the hubby! They’re the best. And the Zappos site is great - I bought a pair of shoes from there for last year’s Nationals!
“Gaznachos” cracked me up. I believe they’re called gauchos. I shall call them gaznachos forever more.
You know I’ve been known to FORCE my feet into shoes on sale that I love. LOL
Can’t wait to see what you look like in your dress.
Shopping is wonderufl, isn’t it?
I hear you on the can’t find pants thing. Pants are my nemesis. I can never find pants that look good on me so when I do I buy them in several colors, just in case. I have a big ol’ booty and hips but have a flat tummy and small waist, plus I’m short (5′4″, but tend to wear shoes that make me look 5′7″) so that basically equals NOTHING. It sucks. And now that I’m injured with the knee problem, heels are a problem for me, so I’ve been wearing flats. Suffice it to say that I have to wear skirts because none of my pants are the right length now (they’d all been altered for 2 1/2 to 3-inch heels). Ugh.
I’m not really a khaki fan on me. More of a classic black, chocolate brown, or grey-type of gal. Perhaps that’s the lawyer in me. Dunno. But I do like khaki cargo capris, not that those are RWA approriate. I’ll probably be wearing skirts the entire, including a skirt suit for my pitch appointment.
Oh Amanda, doesn’t pants shopping just suck!? I’m 5′4 and have the worst time. When we went to Jersey a couple of weeks ago, I was cold and had only brought skirts so I figured, hey, I’ll go shop! Man, I liked to cried. It was awful. Everything that actually fit my butt was like 3-6 inches too long lol. I wanna know where all the short women with small butts are, cuz I sure don’t know any lol.
Shelli, glad you had fun shopping. :)
ohhhh, what fun. just my kind of girl. :D I love shopping for myself, but it’s a luxery I very rarely get to indulge in anymore.
sigh…all that pretty clothes. especially liked the mention of that butterfly necklace. I like odd and unusal jewlrey. Very cool, chica. :D
Sounds like a fun, but busy time.
Oh yeah… shopping is great therapy. *lol* Good to hear you had so much fun. *g*
